To me Ledger absolutely has that "will" to get the pill and make a contest.

Cripps has been less demanding of the footy and a bit opportunistic for mine but would be wrapt if he took off this year.

Id be even more wrapt if Armogoes up a notch and becomes a firstg picked 22 player as after x years he needs to tbh.

i had ledger ahead but i have changed my mind. and that is nothing against ledge. still love him. cripps has edged ahead for mine .

to me cripps looks like a complete footballer. fast, nice kick, tackles well, tough. really impressing me atm. i think the extra year pre-season was what he needed. he was really skinny when he arrived. looks ready now.
Yeah, I just don't know a) if he's big enough and b) if his marking capabilities will hinder him in the long run.

Like his work, want to be wrong, but just failing to see the tricks with Cripps atm.

Ledger.....no concern there, in a handful of games he has shown plenty to suggest he is a player

Cripps.....some concerns, but at his age they can be addressed. He has tools, so hopefully a player

Siposs.....some concerns, but they are all age related. He has shown enough to suggest he will be a player

Armo.....opportunities will see him either drop out of the side, or be in the top ten. Has been starved IMO, so hard to judge

Jack......plenty of good, but a bit of bad. Very untidy player at times..

Simpkin......I wish he was 1 inch taller and 10 kg heavier, having said that he has earned the right to get an opportunity

Very tough on Jack Steven, he has a little bit of untidiness when played as a grunt midfielder but even Lenny has messy disposal when playing that role. He is going to be something special. He is the only player we have developed in the last couple of years who looks to be a potential a grader. I expect him to be top 5 in our B&F at the end of this year- he looks looser from his OP clearing up a bit.

He will be a very good player long term. I have a good feeling about Cripps and after his cameos last year where he scored multiple goals from limited time on the park as a sub, I can't understand all the "concern" about him. Lenny Hayes wasn't AA in his first season give him time.

I would be very interested to see how many players outside the Gold Coast from last years draft were selected in round one this year. My guess would be not many.

The most we should ask for from Cripps, Ledge and Sip is for them to cement their spot this year. They wont star and will look poor at times but its only their second year cut em some slack

most of them, from a glance at the top 30:

gaff (4)
polec (5)
conca (6)
heppell (8)
smith (14)
smedts (15)
jacobs (16)
atley (17)
smith (19)
wallis (22)
guthrie (23)
cripps (24)
darling (26)
harper (27)
lester (28)

only four or five non-gcs players missing from that list.
