Not playing for score-less draws anymore.
Sorry I misunderstood. I thought you meant losing games by 15 plus goals. Why would anyone complain if we win games having 15 goals scored against us?
You're definitely setting up a straw man there.

Because nothing says we're going more attacking than getting the backline coach from the number 1 defence.

Well to be fair he hasn't said that, just that the balance needs to be better, and the teams he has coached have had better balance.

He implied a shift to a more attacking style - 'not playing for scoreless draws'. Watters was the line coach for one of the stingiest back sixes of the past two years. Now he's head coach of another one. I expect a lot of low scores.

It's as if you actually want St Kilda to fail..

I can see how these sorts of opions would challenge you. I will try to avoid such confusion in the future.

The reality is we had a shithouse year last year with only Dal Santo and Fisher able to say they had great years. The fact that Dempster finished so high in the B&F is a sign of that. Apart from the development of Mc Evoy and Steven we didn't show much. At the end of the day we will go up or down, the positive folk think with less injuries more development and luck with injuries it's up. The negative folk think the further slide as age and the challengers improve. Truth is that we won't know for about 10 rounds whether we are still capable.

My feeling is that the challengers are getting better but our legacy from lyon, is that they have been to the summit and slipped and know the path back. If a few things go right we are in with a chance another Roo or lenny type injury and it gets a lot harder. Carlton, West Coast, Richmond, Essendon, North, Adelaide, Freo could all be anywhere from 2 to 13th this season but we have an advantage of having jumped the hurdles before. Getting through a prelim is a huge psychological jump and we know we can do it.
