We may have found a beauty....
From what I witnessed today.....
I watched someone who looked 2 levels above VFL and made it look easy.....runs on top of the ground, unbelievable hands, big leap, ridiculous composure and good by foot......don't think he raised a sweat....
Absolute game breaker.....

If he can handle the intensity and defensive pressure of AFL and deliver the same in the defensive side of his game......he will be a gem......

More speed and agility than Arryn, not as strong one on one or as good a kick.....but carries the footy.
Not Wilkes....but he was excellent, a real workhorse

It's got to be "sweety" or Mozzie or what ever we call him now. He looks like he uses a ball like a yo yo when he has it in his hands at training so can't wait to see him play at the top level for a few weeks in a row.BigMart wrote:More speed and agility than Arryn, not as strong one on one or as good a kick.....but carries the footy.

Re: We may have found a beauty....
I'm a little partial to complete and utter irrational labelling of any player that shows an ounce of quality. Although I did luckily bypass the Tommy hype so I look like I still have some credibility. I'm still waiting for Rhys Stanley to be a combination of Buddy and Plugger because he won a foot race. And as for Siposs, well if he doesn't kick 100 goals this season he won't be trying hard enough. So with that in mind and with no pressure and having only seen him in an uneventful NAB game, Sweety= the new(old) Winmar.

What are you talking about, BigMart, Jason Blake's been with us for years?
YOU GET WHAT YOU SETTLE FOR.
Re: We may have found a beauty....
Totally with you there Gringo!
So many of the dour types are gone & a much better blend of skill, pace & excitement has been injected into the lineup. Should be an exciting year.

Re: We may have found a beauty....
If you are talking about Frankie's son. He had a great game today.
Re: We may have found a beauty....
It wasn't a puzzle..... Those who followed the game thread or watched/listened to the game clearly know it is Terry Milera.....
Long time since I have seen someone effortlessly dominate a game of footy like that, he was mocking the opposition and had the crowd just shaking their heads...
That been said, the question is, can he do that with an increased tempo....if so...look out, because some of the stuff he did today was special....
On the recruiting staff..... They have made mistakes sure......a guy playing today for sandy (Dowler) was a first rounder picked by Pelchin....but recruiters get it right a lot....
It's why the get paid $$$$$
Leigh Montagna
Sam Fisher
Jim Gwilt
Arran Siposs

Re: We may have found a beauty....
So as it turns out we got Saad Milera and Ross @ #25 for a swap #20 (Crozier).
Could be a positive for the Saints as we go forward.

Lance or James??

Have to be a chance v Port anyhow in Gram/Raphs absence, and on a ground he knows well.

Re: We may have found a beauty....
Couldn't agree more. I went to watch all the boys but was mesmerized by Milera. Was always in the right spots, attracted so much of the ball, awesome overhead and knows where the goals are when he's got his back to them.BigMart wrote:From what I witnessed today.....

Absolute game breaker.....
Absolutely shattered when he flew high over a marking contest and ended up clutching the leg on the ground
Hopefully more likely to be a knock than a turned ankle given the nature of the incident. Fingers crossed.
HOPELESSLY DEVOTED

Re: We may have found a beauty....
Very exciting to hear it is Milera of which you speak!
All I've seen of him is NAB Cup Round One, but that goal he kicked vs Geelong is burned into my memory. The way he bounced immediately and loped effortlessly like a gazelle inside 50 and drilled it from 35 was something I haven't seen from a St.Kilda player for a while. Just the class with which he did it. He looks to have BUCKETLOADS of pure, raw attacking skill. The kind of player who can bust open games in short bursts of brilliance. oooh yeah.

"Too big, too strong, too whatever."
