Re: Thank Goodness we dodged this bullet
Anyone who thinks he was squeeky clean at Richmond is kidding themselves. Glad we didnt get him. And no I dont believe that with him we would have won a premiership, not for a second.
Re: Thank Goodness we dodged this bullet
Remind me the damage he did at Richmond and then ring punt rd and inform hardwick, because thinks otherwise, but what would he know, he only coached him.
I would love to to have see the ruck/roving combination of Gardy and cuz Back together... It seemed to work ok at the eagles.... When they were up and running
And if the board overruled on a football decision, no wonder we can't succeed, surely that's a joke.
Then out of desperation we lured a bigger issue, which dragged 4 others down with him. A notoriously lazy prick who was simply unlikeable

Re: Thank Goodness we dodged this bullet
So because he did no damage at Richmond, he would of kept out of trouble at St Kilda?
I don't quite understand the argument yet.
Ben, the guy you're talking about, said that St Kilda refusing him and thinking his footy dream was over....was what he needed to wake up to himself.
If St Kilda had taken him, the dream wasn't ever looking like it was over, would he have been as contrite?

Good logic
It's funny the people who try to convince themselves we did the right thing with cousins
Also defend an even more moronic decision to take Lovett Using the same argument
Either call one wrong and one right...... Contradictions can make you look foolish

Because thats all it is - opinion and ludicrious unprovable hypotheticals.
You wanted a drug f##ked player to reunite with Gardiner at the Saints.
FFS the media would have had a field day. Didn't you witness what they did on the back of a lying schoolgirl last summer?
You also knew Lovett would be charged with rape did you?
Fair dinkum get off it you crazed egotist.
Hows Attilla Sipposs going BTW?
Lance or James??

Lol at some comments...
People forget that Cousins was an addict before being drafted to Richmond... And that Lovett was charges after being drafted...
How that equates to drafting Lovett with having bigger problems baffles me.

but that's just your take on it.
His football career WAS finished.
I would have thought, the first slap in the face was was being banned from the game
then came the string of teams that said publicly, "... we hope he gets a chance, but he is not in the mix for our selections..."
then came a very big slap in the face with the ex-copper collingwood inverstigator, submitting his report to the pies, followed by them very publicly dropping out of the race.
all that came before Lyon presented BC with a jumper, being endorsed by all the players, and then 11th hour westaway decision...

Hi joffaboy.
One things for sure
Hindsight says I was right with my call, and proves you were wrong.
You keep telling yourself the club made the right call if that makes you feel better.
History does suggest
Cousins ...... Success
Lovett ....... Failure
And just for good measure, I just watched Luke ball tear us a new arse in the first half today
Whatever makes you feel better, so don't let the facts or proof interfere with that

A woman can give /withdraw consent to sex/rape.
I don't think they can consent to a beating.

Re: Thank Goodness we dodged this bullet
Hate to say I told you so, but if Saints Central was still about I could show you where I predicted our unravelling immediatele after the Ball/Lovett debacle.
Might have been touch premature but unfortunately feel I am about to be proven right.
Can't meekly surrender p0layers like Hall.Lockett & Everitt on the basis of behaviour/culture and then recruit a person of questionable quality both on/off field in Lovett.

You are so right. We made the next 2 GF's and with a side with our excellent history that is obviously unravelling.

Sorry you said we unrevelled. 2 GF's in 2 years from a side that has made about 5 in 114 years is hardly unrevelling. Matter of fact apart from 65 and 66 it is clearly our most succesful era.

Bock still got recruited.
And these were issues, but comparing them to a drug addict in terms of reoffending is rediculas.
BM all you seem to want to do is preach how much of a fortune teller you are.
Facts on the table, the end result doesn't make it a wrong decision at the time... And to use Cousin playing a few games at richmond, not making the finals and tearing a couple of hamstrings a success is moronic.
But well done. You guessed right. Well sort of. If I got back in time, I make the same decisions the club made with the same facts on the table.
So congratulations you are a fantastic fortune teller. Maybe this could be the start of a new profession. The only negative is all the fortunes you get wrong, maybe we could start a forum dedicated to those.
Re: Thank Goodness we dodged this bullet
A few good games and a couple of torn hamstrings..... Was that his impact at richmond??? taken some creative license there spinner...
I seems you don't like giving some credit when warranted....
It's nice you would make the same decisions the club made in retrospect, me, I would change a couple of things that might have helped us win a grand final.....if your happy coming close, good for you...
Ps I'm no fortune teller, and I was not Robinson Crusoe in this case....
