From The Age:
"The Bombers had opted to charter flights to the north-eastern Victorian town for the 7pm match, while the Saints instead took a three-hour bus trip."
That's a little more like it. The HUN reporters need to familiarise themselves with a map of Victoria.

big fail Essendumb
In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

Re: Wangaratta Weather
A practice session by the Saints on the Wang ground tonight would really stick it to the Bombers,
and show our good faith with anyone who turns up.
It would be the same as saying "Well, we're here, the ground's in decent nick, but where's the opposition?"

We get the points. The opposition failed to show.
Old enough to repaint, but young enough to sell

Twas a good idea to not have any contingency plans, hey. This has worked out wonderfully. That sandpit at AFL house may be even deeper than you thought.saintspremiers wrote:No contingency plans for a praccy match?AnythingsPossibleSaints wrote:"We'll be monitoring the situation over the next 24 hours, but the way the forecast is at present and the way it's looking outside, it's not so bad."
AFL spokesman Patrick Keane said the League was not making contingency plans.
"We're watching it, but there's no intention to do anything different," Keane said.
"The ground may well be very heavy, but we're a winter sport and sometimes we have wet grounds.": http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/ ... fault.aspx
Fair Dinkum, time the AFL get their heads out of their arse and see what's happening!
Another big drink Saturday night and the ground will be knee deep in water again.
I can't imagine it has the ability to soak up another big dump after around 200 mills has fallen in a few days.
YOU GET WHAT YOU SETTLE FOR.

Having no back up slot for a replacement game has meant a big Facebook/Twitter/PR exercise that generates lots of AFL lead stories in the pre season. Kicks off other sports.
i am Melbourne Skies - sometimes Blue Skies, Grey Skies, even Partly Cloudy Skies.
