I always wondered why the team is so often pictured in Port Phillip Bay. Seems they were training.

Now that I am old and know so much more, I know that I know so much about so little, and so little about so much.

The official weather forecast for Wangaratta is for "heavy rain", beginning at around noon and going into the evening. 20-40mm predicted, according to weatherzone.com.au. Sounds lovely.

Re: Wangaratta Weather
On the Saints Big Footy page they're saying there is up to 60-80mm expected for Wang today, so it might be really bad. Not sure where they got those figures from, though, or what time they got them. Those posts were about 6 hrs ago.
If the ground is going to be flooded tonight, I wonder if Sunday is an option there? It obviously drains pretty quickly, so it may be ready by then.

I think it would be fine at the moment, but in 12 or so hours it could be getting very different.

Re: Wangaratta Weather
The reality is this:
Unless there is drenching rains in the arvo before the game starts, it will go on as planned.
There surely must be contingency plans if the ground is under water at say 6pm?
Playing on another day is pron not an option to due travel and other commitments the teams
Both have.
IMO a cancelled game means no replacement game and split the points.
If the clus need a hit out I'd imagine an intra club on Sunday back in Melbourne.

Hopefully it holds off Foz! The area certainly doesn't need anymore rain! If the predicted 100mm hits Wang and surrounding areas could be in for one hell of flood situation for early March!

I agree Buckets! No where for the water to go now, fingers crossed we get some sort of break late this arvo.
Another large rain event likely mid arvo looking at the radar

Re: Wangaratta Weather
Wangaratta was in the predicted rainfall's 'bullseye' and looked like receiving between 50mm-100mm this afternoon.

Bureau of Met is saying 5.2mm to 3pm at Wangaratta. 40km down the road and we have had 31mm and still pouring rain.

Arrived in Wang about an hour ago, it has not stopped pouring since we arrived. Staying at the quality hotel in town, all players and staff are staying here too.

Looking like a game cancellation is on the cards unless the rain stops by 6 I reckon.
But we are talking the AFL, so anything is possible!
I read that umbrellas are banned because of the "sellout" crowd.
Well, I reckon thousand won't show due to the weather. For a 20 dollar ticket, is it worth it??
