This is the FIRST hit out.
So Mcevoy is the worst number 1 ruckman in the comp. Walsh is a dud. I mean c'mon. This was the first hit out. I dont see how people can make these statements. At the end of the day, this game meant nothing. Number 1 was to get through unscracthed. Young players getting exposure and the players getting used to the new gameplan under Scott.
Remember and why do people even think about making these statements at the end of the FIRST match. Only Footy Nimbats do.

Re: This is the FIRST hit out.
"Young players getting exposure" and "the players getting used to the new gameplan under Scott" do not = "nothing". Those are important things. And it's not just the young ones getting "exposure" that is important, but even more important is seeing how they handle the step up in intensity and so on, as these games, while obviously a notch below regular season AFL games, are most likely a step or two above the level they usually play at in the U18's, VFL, SANFL, WAFL, QAFL and so on. So this gives everyone selecting the side for R1 a chance to see how they handle the step up. No-one's saying that they're the most important things in the world, but they're also not "nothing". There is in fact an area in between. If you're going to be calling others names, you might want to get your facts straight and realise that. Otherwise you're just exaggerating and talking s***, like they are.clarky449 wrote:At the end of the day, this game meant nothing. Number 1 was to get through unscracthed. I can guarantee you that our coaching staff and those involved would have gotten plenty out of the games, especially those who are fighting tooth and nail for a spot in the 22 for R1. And the coaching staff, many of whom are new to the club, will be picking the team for R1 based largely on how everyone performs in all these lead-up games to the first round. If anyone on the fringe plays a bunch of good games, leading up to the start of the season, that will greatly enhance their chances of being picked and conversely, if anyone they thought may have been a shot for R1 puts in a bunch of ordinary ones, they are almost certainly not going to picked. These things do not = "nothing".

Re: This is the FIRST hit out.
i agree to an extent. not worth making big calls on anything or getting carried away about individuals.
but somehow we have to pick 22 players on round 1 from 36 or whatever.
so not sure how we are going to do that except based on nab form.

So how many premiership points did we get on the Weekend?AnythingsPossibleSaints wrote:"Young players getting exposure" and "the players getting used to the new gameplan under Scott" do not = "nothing". how many teams win premierships without blooding the kids? giving kids the games in the nab cup is low risk high return opportunity.clarky449 wrote:So how many premiership points did we get on the Weekend?AnythingsPossibleSaints wrote:"Young players getting exposure" and "the players getting used to the new gameplan under Scott" do not = "nothing". Right on Clarky, genius…clarky449 wrote:So Mcevoy is the worst number 1 ruckman in the comp. Walsh is a dud. I mean c'mon. This was the first hit out. I dont see how people can make these statements. Remember and why do people even think about making these statements at the end of the FIRST match. Only Footy Nimbats do.
I reckon you should jump on every single thread that comments on the NAB cup games and abuse every poster, ideally with something like "you're a footy nimbat"
You'll then be able to feel way superior, with a little snigger you'll feel comfortable just letting everyone know how much more you know about the game than them…
FFS mate - GET A LIFE
You are defining the word troll right now, adding nothing to the conversation and basically just calling everyone a moron.
You are NOT the nimbat police…

Re: This is the FIRST hit out.
ironically I actually share some of your views on football matters, just don't see the point in you pointing out every person you disagree with and calling them names. (however mild the terms may be)clarky449 wrote: Thankyou, appreciate the support.
Let bygones be bygones & morons be morons. It's February, everyone is bored and hanging for the footy to start...
There are plenty of outlandish statements and ridiculous threads, as this is the very place for such things.
Can someone please help me down from this horse?
Re: This is the FIRST hit out.
Thankyou, i do have some very good views on football.. I apologise to the people i have called "Football Nimbats". I will refraim from using that word unless it is something very stupid that is laughable.dragit wrote:ironically I actually share some of your views on football matters, just don't see the point in you pointing out every person you disagree with and calling them names.
