What's everyone paying for their Foxtel subscription?
The old man just signed us up for Foxtel again after we got rid of it over the off season.
They're charging us $55 pm for Basic + Sport + IQ
Just wondering if we got a good deal or if others have done better. So what's everyone paying per month?

$548 for 12 mths = $45.70 per month + Free installation.
Subscription = Basic (12 months) + Sport (6 months) + Sports Value Pack & IQ (1 month).

Forget weighing it up, just get HD, you'll never look back.Dr Spaceman wrote:And $129 for the lot with one extra box at my place.plugger66 wrote:I pay $150 a month but that is for basically everything and in 2 extra rooms.

Yeah agreed get HD.fingers wrote:about $129 I think..all channels, IQ2, HD
Get HD.
Two boxes IQ HD $129 or so.
Pay TV without IQ is not worth it.
have started watching the West Wing from Season one on W just after Xmas (didn't see it first time around) and am loving watching a bunch when I like.
Looking forward to Fox Footy channel as well.
Lance or James??

About $145 p/m plat package.
HD box in main and standard in B/R.
We have it through Telstra w/internet and home phone. Ends up being $30 bill discount for multiple services.
Like others have said HD is a must.

i've got an xbox 360 so i'll be trialling the 'foxtel on xbox 360' option with the footy add-on.. i used it last year, there were no live games but each game from each round could be streamed on demand at the conclusion of said round.
total cost involved is $30 a month.. will be interesting to see the quality.

Re: What's everyone paying for their Foxtel subscription?
Was going to post this in a new thread, but I'll roll into this one.
Been disappointed with the roll out of "entertainment" programming on FF so far. Seems to be a lot of blethering panel shows...
Perfect opportunity to make some ESPN 30 for 30 style docos that really get into the history of the great game being wasted so far on old games and Robbo trying to get people suspended 4 times a week...
If they start on the doco making now, there must be a cracking 20th anniversary Nicky Winmar doco they could get up for 2013...
What do you think?

You can listen to Bristle tell you Carlton are still a massive chance at 28 points down with two minutes to go, you can listen to him tell you all about Lorne, or you can watch a monkey on a pushbike...I know which I prefer...

West Wing - now there's some good TV. Last Episode season 2 - Jed's rant in the cathedral. Fantastic television. Then the sly smile and the hand in the pocket at the press conference. Great show.joffaboy wrote:Yeah agreed get HD.fingers wrote:about $129 I think..all channels, IQ2, HD

We only saw that episode last week. Was some of the best TV I had ever seen. Truly magnificent.

Re: What's everyone paying for their Foxtel subscription?
We're on about $190 a month for home phone, internet, and the full Foxtel package of Platinum HD IQ. As others have said, the HD is a must, especially if you like your sport and have an HD TV.
When we first upgraded to HD last year, we initially had the standard Fox Sports channels and also the same ones in HD and the difference between the two was very noticeable. If you switched from say the cricket or golf, on the standard def channel, to the same program on the HD channel, it was like someone turned on the lights, sharpened the focus and removed the grain.
Only problem is, once you get used to that, it sucks to have to say watch the cricket on channel 9 all summer, which is done in standard def.
I think it works out to be $20 extra a month, though, for the HD. We thought it would only be $10 and agreed to that, but when it was all installed we found out that $10 a month only got you the HD box, or whatever. To actually get the channels we were told it would cost an extra $10 a month on top of that.

Re: What's everyone paying for their Foxtel subscription?
We pay $90 a month for IQ2 plus all the channels except movies and a second standard box upstairs.
Spent an hour on the phone with the guy organizing this. Ended up deleting the foxtel from our old Telstra contract when we moved last year and getting the installation
at the new address for free. They were quite happy to come and pick up the boxes etc and no amount of arguing with Telstra made any difference. So we had it
disconnected at the old house and reconntected at the new house (free installation at the new place) with the upgrade to IQ2.
I am also considering the HD channels now that footy season is coming around. From what everyone is saying the $10 pm is worth it.
