For me the cult heroes were Joffa Cunningham, Greg Burns, Jayson Daniels and Rocket Rod Owen.

All were a little different, Joffa and Burnsy were as hard as nails and did on occasion display a bit of white line fever.
Daniels "the ginger ninja" was pretty much the worst kick in the league but had a heart the size of Phar Lap and Rocket was just a little off his tree.

Yeah i loved Jack Daniels he was a true shocking kick but we somehow covered for him, the gingers always seem a little different. Frankie Peckett could have had the cult hero tag, just a different bloke to most AFL players.

He was a classic, Bruce Doull at Carlton was their version of that slightly oddball guy. We got a couple of good ones from them along with Hammer. I'm starting to dislike them less.

Max Rooke and Ling would be the modern equivalents of that eccentric cult hero.
