Volume of traffic seems very low on the new forum but it could also be time of year related.

I reckon if anyone uses the ignore buttom they are the ones with problems not the people they want to ignore. How could people take what is written that seriously that they would want to ignore them.
I would have thought the opposite. If you ignore someone, you don't take them seriously.

I am choosing to ignore that.

lets face it
its cheap
the same kinda thing has been chosen
and the main concern seems to have been security and drop outs

there hasnt been an upgrade in looks or functionality
and thats fine
if peeps are happy with that then all good
im sure its not easy changing over and doing all that behind the scenes stuff
but im SURE that if the whole scenario wouldve been open in the first place instead of all hide and go seek more money wouldve come your way (prob over half what was donated in total by just 3 posters) and we couldve had something looking absolutely fantastic and not using a free based template on a 30 buck plan
and by the way
wheres stinger????
did he get lost in the transition???

So if I read you correctly Gaz, and that is always an unproven theory, you are stating that as Stinger donated x amount of y dollars to run the forum, he should have carte blanche to run riot over the whole forum, making his libellious accusations unfettered?

Perhaps we could open up a new forum to cover running costs.... for a thou each you could each post anything and everything you wanted to for an entire day.

Stinger has allies , born of a family connection , since day dot around the stkilda boards.
These allies are natural born friends amongst the older and may i say , observably wiser set ... who shake their heads at the HYPOCRICY seemingly delivered by both 'other' posters and stage managed moderation results.

.a FAMILY forum without the originals ... how very german and goatish.

We seem to all be assuming that Stinger has been banned, yet there has been no official confirmation, as far as I can see, that actually is the case.

He could just be lying doggo, lapping up all the attention that is coming his way.

Do we have any facts regarding his fate? It would be terrible if we are all beating our keyboards to death when he is just waiting for BHP shares to go up before he can pay his internet connection.

.no beating of keyboards here ... just a growing unease with the machinations of of a first rate site quickly becoming third rate.

It seems likely that Stinger has been banned. Hopefully just for the month (or whatever is the minimum time frame). If I know Stinger at all I would say that he will be dirty on himself for overstepping the line with his remarks on a previous thread, despite there being IMO a certain amount of entrapment involved.

Anyhow, if he is getting to read this forum at all I hope that he realises that he is being missed.

Hey Mat, is there a forum you can point to that in your opinion would be an upgrade in looks/functionality?

I'm a member of a couple of other fora - hotcopper and a UK work-related one, and I prefer the looks and functionality of SS to both of those.

I haven't used the Ignore button, but I've had a few on ignore for quite a while - never open threads they start, and mostly skip their posts in other topics I'm reading or posting in

I couldn't give two s***s what the forum looks like as long as it doesn't constantly crash and have bugs like the old forum did.

.nice read richter ... and good onya for going into bat for the 'reality' of the situation in the G1 thread.
... i'd argue about a 'certain' amount of entrapment though

mixed in with a continueous winge fest both publically and privately .

I hate to say this but I do not like the new site at all. I appreciate what people are trying to do, so I dont mean to offend. But there is not way I am changing it to Blue and white, there is nothing St Kilda about that. True Sainters have changed, yet their colour scheme remain red, white and black. Is this forever, cause it could be the end of Saintsational, its awful. Sorry

A solution is available if people follow the instruction on the first "thread on the dislike of the change'- posters have achance to put their preferance, make a style that can be put to people- but has anyone done so yet?

Please look through the list at http://www.phpbb.com/styles/demo/3.0/ and tell me which one you want. This goes for everybody - if there are a couple of clear favourites then I will install them.

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT that before you reply that you check the version number of the style. You do that by clicking the "Overview" link at the top right of the page I linked to above after you have selected a style. If "phpBB Version(s)" says 3.0.10 then it is okay. Anything below that is not.

Favourite two:

1 - ExtremeDark Red - for the traditional look, I think this is great

2 - IDLaunch_Black - Very smart and easy to read, easily add a splash of red to the banner, too
some body can be part of the solution..

ditto and well said. i'm not for banning anyone but obvious non saint trolls, but if i was going to ban anyone it would be a poster that creates a thread solely to criticise another poster with the pretty obvious intention of getting them banned. let stinger back in and a few certain posters can simply 'ignore' him, rather than continually bait him. really poor form imo.

yes richter

truesainters looks better

only my opinion of course

look this site is the biggest saints site going around, and prob in the top 3 for afl fan based sites
so why not make it look and function like the best?
fair enough we have shite loads of members and everyone comes here first for saints info
but id make it look the best or try to
i would try to out do every other site

id say if we had this much cash we could have this, find an example
or if we could only get this much cash we could have this, find an example

what ive been saying from the start
but no one wanted to disclose what we could look at what was being looked at and how much they cost

fair enough
we arent the admins of the site and good on them for keeping it running (seriously)
but lets get the best looking and the best functioning

imo

we have this now
so lets run with it
the colours will change, battye will sort that out i have no doubt about that

A poll sounds like a good idea.

I'll start a poll with IDLaunch_Black and Extreme Dark Red. So unless anybody wants to propose another option, I'll create a poll this weekend as to what the default theme should be.

AND ???

... this thread must be hard to read !

Please don't put me in a position where i have to create mayhem
to fnd out Stingers status.
.... as expressed via PM , nearly a week ago , that remains unanswered
THERE ARE NUMBERS OF POSTERS VERY CONCERNED about the latest goings on behind the SCENE.

Whats the 'story' battyboy ?
