Seems the schedual has changed, no fans allowed... Practice match now not for public consumption?!....
No that claims there was one TODAY and next weeks is still going ahead.... Bit strange as coaches & players are all down at Moonah Links on a Leadership Camp, with all coaches down there last night and players joining them this morning.....

What the... fudge? I was eagarly waiting the flood of reports from this morning, and wondering why they weren't flowing in??? So this is why. But why publish an open intra club game (shouldn't all intra club games be open?) and then overnight make it closed????http://www.saints.com.au/news/newsartic ... fault.aspx
A fairly major communication stuff up somewhere it would seem. Wonder if the club will apologise?
Does anyone out there in Saintsational land with club connections know what happened?
That said, I've been very happy with the running of our club and it's direction, so am prepared to run with this being an (inevitable) bump on the road to onwards and upwards.
Although miffed for the moment, I've now had my rant, and I keep the faith.
It's Dave, man. Will you open up? I got the stuff with me! -------Who?
Dave, man. Open up ------------------------------------------ -----Dave???

Its only Feb 3rd today, the club has been publishing an Intra Club for Feb 10 all the time, never once was there ANY mention there was one today... Why would the club apologise for something they never did? It seems the AFL reporter got it massively incorrect.
Not to mention on the website yesterday under the training times was this:
"Training sessions on Monday 30 January, Tuesday 31 plus Wednesday 1 and Friday 3 February are closed to everyone."
I've now corrected my calendar, and am looking forward to next week's game.

borderbarry wrote:Thanks for all the ideas people. I ran them past my wife and suggested it would be a good way to avoid all the relations etc that were coming up here, but she was not impressed. Oh well, I hope it is a good game any way.
Was worth a shot Barry
Seriously though, my congrats to you both on reaching such a significant milestone, hope you have a lovely day with your family and friends.
Likewise congrats Barry & Mrs Barry.
My anniversary falls in mid March so at least, like you, it's only the pre season that's at risk.
Could be a lot, lot worse
A lot worse - like Carlton_Mum and mine being September 26!

I thought the bubble had burst and the club was making themselves more accessible?
So what do they do?
Shedule the only intra-practise match at 9:30 am on a workday down in Siberia.
How accessible is that!
The rest of Australia can wander mask-free, socialise, eat out, no curfews, no zoning, no police rings of steel, no illogical inconsistent rules.
They can even WATCH LIVE FOOTY!
Yeah I was a bit bummed about the time too. I'm on sick leave and was hoping to be able to go and watch. But no autographs after either kind of isn't worth the 2 1/2 hour drive.

The glory days of the 5pm praccy matches on a Friday arvo are sadly over.
The 2012 version is nothing much different to another open training session it seems.
Clearly AFL players get paid too much to appease the fans on February at a convenient time for them.
9.30am though is a good time for the players in case of hot weather on the day.
it is in feb when temps are known to hit 40. so 9.30 not unreasonable.
on the upside. you are against the traffic! driving down the freeway on a friday arvo after 4pm is a nightmare in summer.

If you've missed watching @stkildafc, make sure u get down to LH tomoz morning to watch our intra club. Plenty of new faces to see #saints12
I wonder how many Saintsationalites will "wag it" tomorrow and have a look. If you do, you disgraceful types, make sure you report on the match please.
Far be it for me, one of the elder members, to advocate children wagging it from school or adults throwing a sickie, just to see the intra club match, but when you do, match report please.
Hi Forumites.
I am going down to the practice match tomorrow morning with my 3 year old and elderly Dad and curious about parking and how to get there from the City. Which turn off on the East Link etc. and where to park to minimise walking would be great please.
I will post a report and maybe photos.
Cheers.
Just looking online. 151 East Road Seaford is opposite Belvedere Park and next to a Primary School. It doesn't look like much from the aerial view if it is the correct oval. Any advice?
Google maps has solved my queries. The aerial shots were taken before the centre was built but the street view has the building in progress. Obviously first time to the ground so looking forward to it.
