Any more nominations?
Any other players in the Core group never played a game of AFL footy??
WHilst he hasn't played for us previously he did play 20+ games for WCE.
He along with Gram are teh only 2 players outside the Development group to not have any sponsors as yet.

Mr Magic said yesterday :
Do we have the funds to sponsor 3?
Seems like there is consensus on these three. I like the fact of "continued support" for Crocker and Ferguson. Dropping off sponsorship to these young kids would be a bit of a deflating message to them.OK,
I've advised the Club that we're taking (so far)
Ferguson
Crocker
Markworth

somewhere in the Sponsorship threads MM mentions we are suecure for 1 player and part way to the secondmatrix wrote:just did a 'rough' count in the sticky and i reckon we are at 123 shares
so nearly 2 and a half grand
cant remember how much each player cost, its in one of the threads somewhere
tracking alright for december
looks like we'll def get two players at a minimum
he is confident we can go the 3 again-- I know the dream is 5 players--
but to get to 3 with out Mm have to take a hit would be great.
I believe Sponsorship dept will have an email out this coming week ( possibly after Tue draft) with more detail.

We are committed to the 3 players
Crocker
Ferguson
Markworth
at a cost of $1700 each - a total of $5100
We therefore need to sell 255 shares to cover the cost for these 3 sponsorships.
Currently we have 127 shares taken up so we are half way there (and we're yet to hear from many of our sponsorship group members from teh past couple of years).
Once we get close to selling out those shares we can make a decision on whether we wish to take on any more sponsorships?
This happened a couple of years ago where we ended up with 5 players spsonsored.
Last year we had the unfortunate scenario of the forum being 'down' for a month over the critical selling period and we struggle to get to 3 players.

Never too late!carnasaints55 wrote:quick, stupid question.
what exactly does it mean to sponsor a player? does this money go directly to the player? what is it for?
up for sponsoring any player--hope i havent missed the pledge process.
Player Sponsorships is a money-making project from the Club.
They offer each player up to be sponsored and for your money you are given tickets to attend various functions during the season (including the B&F) as well as a piece of framed signed memorabilia of the payer that you sponsored. No money goes to the player -it all goes to the Club.
We chosse to organize a group sponsorship of a number of players.
To do that we break down the cost of the sponsorship into 'shares' at $20 per share.
Posters can take as little as 1 share or as many as they like.
Each $20 share is for all the players we sponsor - not for any specific 1 of the players
Each share entitles the owner to be in a raffle draw for the tickets/prize as they occur during the season.

and the prizes are worth the price of admission if you are lucky enough to have your name chosen by the random process the sponsorship organizers do
framed prints of the players sponsored
best and fairest tickets
and other prizes
we'd have to be up their with the biggest sponsorship groups surely
crikey if we get more than 3 players thats a fairly good bloody effort

Re: WHICH PLAYERS TO SPONSOR?
Maybe it would help drum up business if the decision was made on the first three, and a banner was created to reflect that the sponsorship is in fact now open and to get on board?

Re: WHICH PLAYERS TO SPONSOR?
Yes agreed, I will make the banner soon but I need to know the colour scheme first. Also need to see how the new forum copes with banners.SainterK wrote:Maybe it would help drum up business if the decision was made on the first three, and a banner was created to reflect that the sponsorship is in fact now open and to get on board?
'Because we've got unfinished business'
