At the end of 2012 who will be our best 5?
Time to get predicting! Who will be our best 5 players at the end of 2012 season?
Who are the 5 improving fringe players already on the list?
Which 5 will break into the regular team from outside our current best 22?
My best 5 at the end of 2012 are:
Dal santo- Brownlow medal after another year of consistent footy
Goddard- a year late will become AFL elite
Fisher- another solid defensive effort with more responsibility on him.
Riewoldt- A huge year for rooey with a new game style and a freed up knee.
Gilbert- The big running back will tear up the comp with his dash and mobility, holding out Montagna and Milne from the top 5.
Improvers from the current list fringe:
Mc Evoy- not on the fringe but takes the next step to become an A grade ruckman
Steven- Big year from the centre square with increased fitness and no injuries.
Gram- back to his running, bombing style after his groin settles down
Kosi- Yes this year really was the one he finally clicked into gear.
Armo- the human wrecking ball barrels the packs giving first use to outside mids all year.
Big improvers from ouutside the best 22 are:
Cripps- shows his elite skills with more game time
Geary- becomes a regular with his aggressive game style.
Ferguson- gets games and shows he has elite talent at this level.
Simpkin- the good Tommy stayed and will hold the backline together with his determined effort.
Ledger- shows why he is a favourite despite being lighter than an alley cat.
Interested in hearing from some of the snipers who love to remind everyone of their poor predictions on this one.

NDS is our best player.
Steven will be a big bolter I reckon. 3 pre-seasons under his belt now.
As for Rooey - well 2012 will define him. UsSaiunts fan know how much he has bled for the club but the harsh reality is to the rest of the footy world if he is as poor in 2012 as he was in 2011 he will always be known as an over hyped blonde poonce who couldnt kick for goal. The media will have well and truly moved on to Buddy Love and maybe even Jack Watts love.
If he has a good 2012 - he will be considered a champ.

That is ridiculously harsh on Rooy. He has on 5 B&F's. The media think he is a champ who had a poor year. If he has another poor year he will have been a champ on the way down.Con Gorozidis wrote:NDS is our best player.

lendog and milney will want to go out on top like crawf did.
nonsense. if goddard wants to go to gws they will just take him for free, keep their pick, and we'll get compo.plugger66 wrote:Is it April Fools day. Reinventing history???citywest wrote:Kosi is s*** and was a massive blunder picking him at number 2 in the National Draft. Harsh but true. (Injuries have played a part though).
1/ (Injuries have played a part though) contradicts the picking process as that is largely unpredictable and in Kosi's case he was fit and durable in his first year...with Roo the then injury prone one.
2/ Look at the Top 10 take,,, Kosi as No 2 stacks up ok, and hardly justifies your massive blunder statement.
sure in hindsight Didak would most likely have been bette for us...but massive blunder? err no.

for me, BJ must not be traded ever (barring a ridiculously good offer) and lenny & milne to play as long as they want and as long as they are still effective, i reckon at least 2 more seasons each.
That's cool.elizabethr wrote:He will be a lot more effective if he learns how to jump and gives first use instead of being an oversized midfielder.Quixote wrote:Not sure/haven't got time to answer all of the OP's questions, however I think the single most important player on our list - bar none - is Ben McEvoy.
But what would happen if Macca did his knee in Round 1?
