Does anyone here believe we can get 50,000 members in 2012?

Hey Saintly good on your Mum! I'll be joining again, but I would have thought a professional organization would have (as they've done in previous years) been right on the case as far as getting renewal forms out to members ASAP. I love my family dearly and would defend them against all comers! However, if one of us is not doing as good a job as they could, then we express our disappointment to each other. Loyalty to the club should never equate to accepting sub-standard service. Thats just DUMB!

There's no chance we'll get 50,000 members. If we were ever going to it would have been after 2009. I'd love to be proven wrong, but can't see that happening on this one.

There were games I didn't go to last year. Well, I refused to go to. Mainly due to the Hawthorn loss. I took that hard and never positively recovered rest of the year. Never really regained faith in Lyon properly.

The same logic would apply to fans considering purchasing a membership. You can't underestimate style of play and personnel. I wonder how many fans weren't convinced with Lyon or who were unwilling to commit due to the clubs relationship with the media and beyond.

I really look forward to being a member this year and going to the games fresh. Last year's mentality was a battle. This year will be one of encouragement and optimism.

If alot of other supporters feel the same way we may break 40 thousand. Which would be a success in my opinion. AND if our young guns start to tear it up, Lenny and Nick and Kosi and others hit their straps; you just never know. 50 would be an impossible stretch, but 42 or 43? Maybe hey.

Mine is all done and dusted and i've had an email telling me when my card etc should arrive....If you don't have your renewal then contact the club and
remind them...they are bound to miss a few members each year but i'm sure they still want there hard earned.....

How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?

we have more chance of winning a premiership than getting 50,000 members this year. To be honest i dont think we would get 50,000 members even after winning a premiership.

I've just wasted two hours trying to renew my memebership online.

THE MEMBERSHIP SITE IS FRIGGIN USELESS !!!!!

Just keeps freezing when you go to checkout.

I guess I'll have to mail mine in.
What a useless waste of time.

We'll be lucky to get 10,000 members if they try to do it online.

Who cares, I'd rather St.Kilda win the premiership. I don't think that will happen though.

I have to say that given the year we had in 2011, and with a new coach I would have thought the membership/marketing departments would have been far more pro-active in getting the literature/renewal forms out there to members. Honestly, I dont think its unreasonable to expect a wee bit of professionalism and commitment from the club. If (as some posters have suggested) WE need to remind the club who we are, then something is wrong!

Not sure what the final tally will be, but I suspect it will be a fair bit more than what most people would have predicted at the time the Ross Lyon news broke.

The club should offer 5 game memberships for like $110 or something.

That way I could buy 3x memberships rather than 2 at $185 or whatever it is.

Plus I can never get to 11 games, I might be lucky to get to 4 due to my own football on Saturdays

I think that 2 game membership (or was it 3?) isn't enough for me, yet 11 is too much.

Reckon the biggest X-Factor is the Live TV coverage and how that will effect memberships across the board. Maybe not this year but over the next couple as people become more accustomed to games on the tube.

People might see a Foxtel subscription as better value they 4/5 memberships for the family, especially for teams that are struggling or have a bad draw ie lots of Sunday twilight games.

If we start the season with impressive wins playing attacking football, we will get members.
I doubt we will get 50,000 though, but we should be close to what we got last year, and as I said to start with, maybe some of those who may have dropped off because they didn't enjoy watching us implement Lyon's game plan may come back on board.

I wonder what the formal Saints Budget has penned in for membership this year?

If they are "budgeting" for 50,000 members, that would be a bit of a financial "risk" in my opinion. 40 + would be a good effort.

If we win the first 10 games of the year by an average margin of 60 points then we would certainly get 40,000 members. Maybe even more!! To get 50,000 members we would need to win the premiership and then in 2013 we would reach the magical 50k mark.

Failing that, we are no chance in hell of reaching 50,000 members.
