Minchington. Has to be a ruckman, surely?

From the Stingrays, looks like he was probably playing forward:

Does anyone get the sneaking suspicion that Watters and co. might think our forward line has been lacking?

Minchington, from Dromana. At least he will appreciate training at Seaford.

From BF Snoop Dog Phantom Draft

Darren Minchington 181 / 76 / 93) Dandenong Stingrays

Came onto the scene late in the year for the Rays after having performed well at the local level. In fact he ended up playing 8 games for them and was named in the bests 5 times when he was predominantly used as a small fwd. He is absolutely electric to watch and has a knack for doing things that have a touch of class about them.

Will start out as a small fwd I would think and will take some time as hasn’t really ever done a proper preseason and it might be this that gets him landed on a rookie list instead but for mine he is showing that he has huge scope for improvement. If he doesn’t go I suspect Rays will have him back as the development is huge and he didn’t do the preseason with them.

From Rayman on BF
– Darren Minchington – Dandenong Stingrays (181cm/76kg/1993)

Speculative selection for the Swans. Has plenty of ‘X – Factor’ explosive pace with good skills and knows where the goals are!

Just found his way onto the Stingrays list without completing a TAC preseason due to strong performances at senior level in the VCFL. The thing I like the most about Darren is his thirst for the contest, hits the packs hard, chases hard does the 1% all day.

We're a bit short on them (excuse the pun)...would have snapped up Broc MacCaully in an instant on his early form last year. Obviously, the Hawks are keen on building up their ruck stocks, we seem a bit thin.

again from inside footy...last but not least....darren ..as seen through the eyes of his coach...graeme yeats........."darren came in and kicked multiple goals for us----very much in the jarryd blair mould in that he's a small quick industrious forward...only has to touch the ball 8 times to have an impact on the game...'

Clearly Kosi, Stanley and McEvoy are now locks as our ruckmen.

Reckon we now have more forwards than backmen!

Can't have been that way for a decade....

Are there any stats on his first game in U18s online. I was told he kicked 5 from the midfield and had 25 possies. Starred this year in interleague, just what I heard its not confirmed but this guy seemed to think he was a dead set gun in the making
