WHICH PLAYERS TO SPONSOR?

The time has come to decide on which players we wish to sponsor.
The Club allows each player to have 1 Premium and 4 Regular sponsors.

We have pledges at the moment for a little more than 1 player but I'm confident that we will sell enough shares for 3.

We have first right of refusal to take our 2 players from last year
CROCKER
FERGUSON

or we can change to different players if we like.

Thew following Development Group Players ($1700 cost) currently have no sponsorship (other than us)
MARKWORTH
NEWNES
WEBSTER
LEVER
FERGUSON
and whomewver gets rookied.

Also avaialble for sponsorship (but have other sponsors) are:-
CROCKER (2 sponsors already, including us)
WINMAR (4 sponsors already)
SIMPKIN (3 sponsors already)
MILERA (1 sponsor already)
ARCHER (1 sponsor already)
CURREN (2 sponsors already)

Who should we take?

For starters I think we should get people on 2 year contracts! otherwise they could be gone (tommy walsh style).

So for me :

1 vote - Saad (cos hes cool)
1 Vote - Jimmy Webster (cos hes from Tassie and they all need help on the mainland)

i reckon ferguson, crocker and markworth; but none of the other kids would be bad options.

He is already spoken for, but he's also more expensive (In the Core group rather then the development group)

My own preference is to always take players who are otherwise unsponsored.

I have always felt there was something not quite right about some players being fully sponsored and others having none.

All the players are part of the Club and should be sponsored (IMO of course

)

The following (from all groups) are also fully sponsored (5 sponsorships)

Goddard

Dal Santo
Armitage
Saad
Stanley

every other player has at least 1 sponsorship available.

I like the way Markworth conducts himself, but I think we should definitely stick with Ferg and Crock and I'm happy with any other draftee or rookie after that.

In that case I would be happy for any of the kids without sponsorship ie Markworth, Newnes, Webster, Lever or Ferguson. I'm guessing Seb Ross is sponsored up?

Ross has 1 Premium and 2 Regular Sponsorships available (so he already has 2 regualr sponsors).

I would like to see us sponsoring some players from the latest intake rather than re-sponsoring players from last year....no big deal how ever it pans out.
