New clash design for 2012?
Perhaps a by the by issue to many considering what's gone on over the past year/138 years at the club...
But Saints Locker has the 2012 home jumper listed for sale, and whilst it's technically a 2011 image of Roo modelling it, it looks like the club is sticking with the black collar and cuffs.

However, no clash jumper is listed as of yet. Often clash designs are contracted for at least two years of use but there have been exceptions. Does anyone have any word on what the go is with this? I would have thought if they were sticking with the 2011 design they'd have it listed in the 2012 section as well (as they have with the home design), unless the club is waiting for the remaining stock on sale to be sold out first.

Considering that they (clash) are being cleared for $66 each, I think there may be a change coming. The home guernsey is no different to this year, and there are none in the clearance section.
Does that mean no change to the sponsors, or is it maybe a new sponsor on our clash jumpers?

The Clash jumper has limited exposure, which may be a cheap buy for a new sponsor. Let's await with interest - someone will know.
Good points about the sponsors. If they are promoting last year's jumper (unchanged), then it's a long way out to have "all" of the sponsors confirmed for next year - looks like the sponsors must be seeing some positive and increased exposure.Considering that they (clash) are being cleared for $66 each, I think there may be a change coming. nab cup strip is staying the same:Beno88 wrote:I'm sure I read somewhere that the club will be using a new clash strip each season. Or maybe it was pre season strip?
Either way, a new strip design every year is a smart way to sell plenty of jumpers every year.

however, i really like the new training singlet:

I tried to buy the white one last year but the club's order for us diehard supporters was cancelled. I could only get the black one.
Looks like I'll buy the white one this year then.

The AFL are idiots then. Is there any conceivable reason why the traditional tricolour front with white back, white collar / sleeves / trim, white shorts, striped socks with white tops, wouldn't meet every practiacl criterion??? Who could it possible be confused with???ThePunter wrote:The AFL has been quite clear that the front of our traditional jumper with a white back is not satisfactory.
Personally, I thought the 2009-2010 clash was ideal.
The 2009-2010 one was OK except the wider white band threw the whole thing out at the front -- looked like stout men wearing waistcoats five sizes too small. Narrow the band down to normal and it is ideal!
One lives in hope that the club will read any of this.

I still can't believe how close the club was to having that clash design as a premiership jumper.
I've wondered what would have happened had we have won the '97 Grand Final - surely the club wouldn't have ditched the cross design had it been what we won a premiership in. It may have been modernised, but I dare say we'd still be wearing something similar to this day as the home design.

Anything but that damn yellow!!!! Just not necessary..Stick to the red, white and black...candy cane as clash ..all clashes covered !!! Or is that too logical ???goddardisgod wrote:The Alternative is that we go Soccer on their Asses.
4 Guernseys
Home- Black- Traditional Tricolour
Away- White- CANDYSTRIPE!!!
Clash- Red- Cross guernsey for vs Collingwood & North
Special- Yellow- One of the yellow ones of 1911 onwards

Looks like they have taken off the black outline around the red.

Unfortunatly the AFL will not let us wear the candy stripe anymore and they say we are allowed 2 jumpers only plus preseason so 4 is also out of the question
Id like to see the old cross jumper updated to be mostly white, maybe a white jumper with a black cross outlined in red would be the go.

I think it actually looks quite good in the photo as there is less white and the red and black side panels look bigger - closer to the home jumper. However, I'm not sure if this is how it will look in reality; this image might have been doctored a little.

Someone on the club's Facebook just asked whether or not the candy stripe would return, and the club's Facebook replied:
"Sorry Neil, the clubs direction is for the St Kilda home and clash guernsey to maintain our traditional three stripes. The only variance to this rule will be in the NAB Cup or any Event guernseys that we produce for special occasions."
