Didn't feature for Vic Country in underage football before this year, but Ross is a hard worker and has taken his opportunities this season. Has played a fair bit as a medium forward, but also worked further up the ground and he links up well. I like him up the ground, so he can use his good (but slightly inconsistent) foot skills to deliver inside fifty. AFL Comparison: Matthew Bate.
Goddard.
Really surprised he doesn’t get discussed a bit more but a terrific prospect who just loves his footy and I think he could be a steal this late in the draft. Probably best suited to a HB or wing where he can use his run and his foot skills. Works hard across the ground and is capable of winning his own ball or being a link up player. I think the importance of spread and repeat running works well in his favour because when you watch him he runs both ways and can work deep into the fwd line. Terrific size for a midfielder to and could see him being given a run in the NAB Cup for sure. For me there is just a slight query on his disposal efficiency.
Goddard.
Sebastian Ross (VIC – Mid)
Height: 187cm, Weight: 82kg, DOB: 07/05/1993
Recruited from: North Ballarat Rebels
Style: Nick Dal Santo
Player comparison:
Range: 15-45
Profile: Medium midfielder who feels really draftable. Really lively. Has a high work rate. Footskills are the standout feature of his game. Just one of those perfect left footers. Under pressure has no difficulty executing. Really like his tackling pressure and for someone with his footskills it’s a rare combination to have. Can play some midfield either inside or outside comfortably. Also like what i’ve seen of Ross up forward. Has a really hard running game and has worked very hard athletically over the past year and it has really been paying off for him. Hard worker and has been a real improver over the past year. Disposal efficiency probably not as high as it could be, even though he is such a good ball user, but I expect he will continue to work hard and improve it just as he has improved his conditioning this year.

Mentioned it elsewhere but Kersten a massive slider. Selecting Ross therefore meant we missed Kersten. I would have been over the moon with Kersten and Elton with the first two. I hope the cousin of Jobe knowledge had nothing to do with it. Unless you are a Selwood, brothers and cousins mean zilch!bobmurray wrote:How would it be if the Ross/Elton picks turned out to be Tambling/Franklin all over again....

Have you watched anything of either boy, or r u just making your judgement on where they were picked in BF phantoms?
BigMart wrote:I wasnt the only one who had him lowish....but he certainly was always going to be drafted...
his output for an inside mid is modest avg: 14.5 touches
have I heard that he is slow and that concerned most recruiters
That was in the National games. Averaged 24 in the TAC. Why not mention that?
And I wouldnt have a clue if you have heard he is slow. We are all waiting in anticipation.

Your positive comments just keep rolling on. I find your opinions so negative it maks me sick. Would you be happy if all our picks ended up being duds.BigMart wrote:Why not mention the champs???
when up against the best.....and opponents that will also be drafted???
I get the feeling you would love it, just so you could say "I told you so"
