Towards the end split into 4 groups - backs, mids and forwards (small and mid/tall) and practiced drills. The biggest group by far was mids. Dowler showed some skill as a tap ruckman. Ferguson was with the backs and Archer, Kosi and Stanley with the mid/tall forwards.(Hamill working with this group).

Magner is a good runner and beat Geary over 2 laps.

Roo and Goddard not there and didn't see Max. Lenny and Jimmy looking good.

Thought Archer looked really fit and was impressed with Kosi in the fast time trials ( up near the lead ) Winmar just did laps ( heavy bandaging around calf ) Dempster, Stanley and Mc.Evoy did laps and the latter looked really fit. Lenny had a hard workout with two trainers involving bumping and ball work with lots of quick turning and stress on the knees. Knackered though!! He's ready to go. Gwilt did lap after lap and still looks a bit proppy. I really thought I detected a limp even though he has a strange running style. Armitage and Jones at the front of all the hard endurance running work. Hard to notice the new players with these old eyes!!! As said before no Roo or Goddard. Good to see Sammy Hammil there. Quite noisy on the track. Max is still on other committments. Caught up with Rebecca who is the new PR lady. Very impressed with her attitude. Talked to all the photographers there and gave them suggestions for photos and asked them for their ideas. Had a decent talk to her and shes very upbeat. No player trip pre season. Everything to be done here. Scott really is a little fella- looks like he is running in the ditch ( Sorry Scotty if you read this, I'll love you forever if you win us a flag!! ) In summary I thought Archer had shown the most change in Body- significantly slimmed down.

Some photo's would be fantastic, if anyone was able to take any.

I am also curious which group Rahp was in, back forward or mid. Cos I think Scotty should use him in middle of forward

As I said earlier he was way near the front in all the running drills. And wouldn't blow out a candle. He knows hes on his last chance

Isn't it amazing how players change their body shapes depending on the thinking at the time.
Players used to bulk up because Leigh Mathews said he liked players with big bums so they could hold their ground, and now they are all thinning down so they can run from one end to the other.
Must make it hard for the nutritionists, conditioning coaches etc.

did you all enjoy the trip to Homebush
And dismissing the notion that the club needs a quick fix to replenish an ageing list, Watters said this morning he is happy to pick up a mixture of ready-made and long-term players at Homebush.

Magner is an absolute unit! He and (i think) Marigliani are build like the proverbial. Magner definitely impressed with his running.
Saad may possibly have a worse opposite foot than Sam Gilbert but great on his preferred.
Ferguson has a good size about him and looked good until he started kicking it.
Siposs looked like he has been working on getting his body right.
Archer working the other way trimming down, for a second I thought Roo had beefed up his upper body but it was Arch.
Dempster and Mac ran some serious laps together and Mac was blowing hard, Sean looking unbelievably fit. Mac finished the session with ice on his calf.
Curren could be a real player.
I really dont like Grams attitude, just little things like he was the last to the huddle before some 1km trials, he jogged/walked and arrived after the ass coach started talking. Didnt seem as keen as the others.
Didnt see much of Dowler but what i saw was ok.
Milera in moon boot, looks a bit like an 18 year old rookie!
A fair few faces I didnt recognise which makes it hard to report on the unknowns.

Most of it has been covered already but here is my 2 cents worth:

Were on ground AT 9:30am as advised and were still going when I had to leave at 12:00PM. Entire group had goalkicking shots for 10 mins or so. (These type of things never would have happened under RL)

Cripps looks like he has bulked up a bit. Guns definately look bigger.
Archer is looking fitter and is probably close to a good playing weight.
Ledger was up the front of the second group and looks to be in good shape.
Big Mac & Dempster mainly ran laps at a good pace. Noticed Big Mac with ice on lower left calf later in session, as the majority of players were called over to watch some NEW clearance drill.
Kosi looks especially fit. In fact as a whole everybody looked like they were in good nick.
Crocker seemed to struggle in time trial. He was at back of group 1 and group 2 who started 30 seconds behind had passed him after 1km.
Curren and Ferguson also impressed me with their training.
Steven looked "uncomfortable" during his time trials.
Magner and Margliani were both up the front at the finish of time trial and were really pushing hard.
Dal only ran laps but looks very fit.
Stanley, Simpkin, Andreoli, Ferguson, Milera(in boot) and Dempster were all doing a slips(cricket) style catching drill with a footy under Paul Hudson.
Hamill looked like he was enjoying being back.
Scott Watters IS small.

Seemed to be a great vibe and lots of encouragement going on. I have a good feeling ATM and am very optimistic about the immediate future.

If anyone has any questions I will try and answer them.

Steven always runs like a duck with shin splints! Do ducks have shins? Anyway...

Agreed with Crocker, he seemed to struggle in a few drills too.

They all looked very fit and most were very enthusiastic which was good to see, good to see goal kicking practice, a few who really need to work on it based on today.
