2012 Saintsational Banner
It is always around this time of year I begin thinking of a new banner for the site. As always our sponsorship players will be on it, as will a quote and of course the traditional Saintsational text.
I'd like to seek some ideas from others, on the format and quote. This year we saw the cross, and while I loved it, I think something new and refreshing is always good.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Agreed. I've been wondering who is Ava, and what is she liable for?SENsaintsational wrote:Speaking of banners, someone needs to correct the typo in the spelling of the word 'Available' in the current banner.
Now if it had been Kim, then the answer/s would be obvious...
It's Dave, man. Will you open up? I got the stuff with me! -------Who?

My SS was playing up that day I have no idea that I actually ended up posting that thread.
Around 900 x 300px it isn't fixed.SaintWodonga wrote: give me the dimensions, I do this for business and facebook all the time.

I think that's going to be fairly hard to do, I try and keep the banner fairly uncluttered and I think that sort of thing won't come off that well.shmic_s wrote: Some way of encompassing St Kilda, Sandringham, Frankston, Seaford and Brighton would be good.
How to do this in banner form?! Not sure...
I've come up with this right now, still fairly rough but I think it looks okay.
And on that typo in available, I'm on it now.

Maybe a photo of luna park, the bay, bathing boxes dissoved into each other, just little image below the "you've got to stay ahead of the game" text? But as you say, could end up a bit busy.

so you'll stick with bad design because it was there from the start?HSVKing wrote:No. That is the original 'Saintsational' used and we base the header around it.desertsaint wrote:good work MS,
now get rid of that awful saintsational font!
i'd expect it at a pre-teen justin beiber forum, but it is just wrong for a footy forum.
simply weird.
if the actual saints thought that way we'd have this...

What? A bad attempt at an old style design?desertsaint wrote:so you'll stick with bad design because it was there from the start?HSVKing wrote:No. That is the original 'Saintsational' used and we base the header around it.desertsaint wrote:good work MS,

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.GrumpyOne wrote:Seems an awful lot has been determined "not-negotiable" about this site.Moorabbin Saints wrote:Font will stay. It's traditional and won't be changed anytime soon.
No wonder people whinge about their lack of say.
Nothing about lack of say, if I didn't want anyone else's say I would design a banner, send it in and that'd be it. A few years ago when I first started making the banner I tried to change the font and was criticized for it. Now I keep it and I'm criticized for it. Saintsational has been identified for years by that font, and I believe it would be completely needless to change it.
You sure love to sit back and give it to others don't you?

Apologies if I have upset you again MS, but your reply seemed a little dog-matic. Perhaps I mistook brevity for tone.Moorabbin Saints wrote:If it ain't broke, don't fix it.GrumpyOne wrote:Seems an awful lot has been determined "not-negotiable" about this site.Moorabbin Saints wrote:Font will stay. The "Not broke, no fix" approach to life would still have us riding horses to work. You have to be open to new suggestions, even if you dismiss them after consideration.
This place is moving backwards due to the paranoid fear of any improvement. But I am referring to the site owner(s) there and not to you. Apologies for the crossfire.
