I agree St.Luke. The guy is a true Saints stalwart. teams are built around Riewoldts and Harvey's but Clubs are built around the type of player and character The Blake is.
Drafted from Bowwie in 98, has seen off Watson, Blight, Thomas, Lyon, and now is on to Watters.
Has played up forward, down, back, in the ruck, as a mid, as a tagger, anywhere he was asked to, and many times with great effectiveness.
Was almost choked to death by Brown of Brisbane, had his back fractured by Stafford (then came back after eight weeks and ran back into a pack with a minute to go with the team 10 or so goals up, to show heart and courage.
Has played 199 games with limited ability but EVERY SINGLE TIME with 100% committment.
And through all that he has not collected one single Brownlow vote. Even the night in 2008 when he was moved forward after halftime and tore the Hawks a new one in 2008.
A big fan of his heart and courage and his LOYALTY to the Saints.
A true clubman in every single sense.
Congrats to the Blake and looking forward to his 200th in R1 next season.

Yes, I've seen players with more natural talent, but JB's a good mark, far from the worst kick, has good hands and, for the most part, makes good decisions.
Plus he will run all day, is tough, durable, versatile and lacks nothing in courage.
His lack of Brownlow votes speaks to his undemonstrative style, though there was a "showpony" moment this season when he hauled in a screamer.
Hope he's not picked up in the draft by another club as he has plenty of football left in him (IMO).

won't be a veteran, that is why the saints delisted him. he will be redrafted in the national draft or the preseason draft.
I think that is the reason he had to be delisted was to redraft him on to the veterans list. Some stupid AFL rule.
not quite
he was on the veterans list and the club wanting to place him back on the primary list to elevate someone with a bigger wage( and thus bigger saving) onto the veterans list.
due to AFL rules they were unable to just place him back on the core list.
had to delist and re draft.

Still, you can only be a good player to play 200 by definition!
Then why not simply say hes been a good player? Why taint it with your usual "controversial" nonsense
"Bottom of the pile"....pffft...Shocking comment in any context
Each to their own. A lot of 200 game players are great players. Blake has done the best with his ability.
It's not controversial what I've said and it's not nonsense.
Sorry if the facts ruin it for you.
Theres a time and a place for "facts" as you so loosely call it
Every time someone praises someone, you have to be contrary and find an opposite viewpoint. You might call it making things interesting, but I reckon if you go and look back at a lot of responses to your posts, a lot of people find it just plain irritating
Looking forward to you pointing out your "Fact" to him at training sometime

I thought Bakes and Lenny were for this year- But it is now evident that Bakes, Lenny and Blakey were
Looking to 2012
I assume ( it will be listed on team list when they are finally published in december- after Pre season draft, some will be in the primary list- some maybe out of primary list and form part of the 6/8 that are rookies and veterans.
Lenny to continue
Milney is eligible
It would appear from several musings - that Kosi is in line
as is Nick-- But musings again give rise to a feeling that he wont be
on the list till 2013

Riewoldt doesnt qualify, misses cutoff by 1 or 2 weeks. Kosi does qualify buy a couple weeks...

i think i heard pelchen say that blake would be delisted so he can be picked up again as he was on the veteran's list.
they want kosi to go on the vveteran's list with lenny in 2012.
which then will mean by 2013 you can then bring in Reiwoldt as he will then be elegible.
by delisting blake it will also help the free agency and money when there is a better draft next year.
