He did it last year at the hawks with Isaac Smith at pick 19

and later on with puopolo at 66

I guess it all comes down to what the talent is like when our picks come round

P.s - Anyone hoping for Grigg to be available at 35 is dreaming, he is not fast but has a killer left foot and can find the ball.......remind you if anyone (Nicky Dal)

And Pup and Smith are both beasts. I hope the Pelican does as well this year.

I think Grigg is one of the more interesting stories of the draft... Has fantastic skills, but is slow as glaciers. Had a pretty awful combine, which really confirmed what many recruiters had already thought about him. Still, there is a chance some clubs may pounce early (i reckon Richmond are a chance), but then with so many clubs only getting one 1st round pick, they may not want to be too speculative, meaning he could drift a bit. Honestly, I reckon 35 is too much to hope for (also considering Geelong could grab him, although they are more likely to go tall with Bosely and Bolger), but I don't think it's outside the realms of possibility.

The last thing we need is another slow midfielder. If they take midfileders early they will go with guy with break away speed or great quick ball carriers.

I wouldn't be surprised if we took at least two mature recruits with our later selections, a mature ruckman and mature KP backman. Selection 75 will be to relist BLAKE.

I am still hoping ARCHER or SIMPKIN can fill the full back position and that will allow us to recruit key forwards and quick mids.

I would like the best guy available 192 to 196 cm for our first pick given our current list and getting cripps and ledger last year.

Then we can probably get a mature ruckman a bit later - our 4th pick.

And best available mids with our 2nd and 3rd picks.

Blake 5th pick.

People will tell me he won't be as good around the ground as Cox, Nat,. But he marks well, and can jump, so let's assume he can spoil.
No good at ground level, but there aren't many rucks these days who are - seriously Natanui is the exception.

Go into games with Fev, Mac and Kozzi to play FF, the rest, and play ruck.

Interesting but I was thinking maybe full back given that Zac is gone.

I felt he'd be too slow at FB.

He's a big bloke. I was thinking a Clarke Keating type smash and bruise impact type player to support Mac; then have him forward, even if just as a 'heat off Roo' decoy role.

Fev is actually a bit short for a traditional FF, so I can't imagine him playing Ruck too... Would imagine him staying the the Goalsquare with Roo CHF and on the wing, with Kosi rotating through the Ruck and forward line. His addition would allow great flexibility in the forward line IMO.

Chad Sandilands, i cant believe there is such little buzz about him. He's SANDILANDS. Yeh atm hes is only 204cms and skinny, but he is Aarons brother and is still growing. Aaron was also a bit of a project, but he is arguably the best ruckman in the league. I cant see why we wouldn't try to jumpe on him at pick 68 when he is tipped to go like 70s

I really think we'll see some serious sliders. I have seen Haynes selected from top10 through to 40s. Similar with Grigg. I can see a slider coming to pick 25. There will be a couple of kids at 35 and 37. Then a couple of 21-24 year olds to cover our lack of depth in that age bracket.

yeah, i reckon the fact that GWS has so many of the early picks means that a few mids will slide - mids that would have been snapped up if it was 1 pick per club for the first 18 picks. because GWS isn't going to pick 8 mids in their 11 picks, don't need that many. still, i agree that our first pick needs to be for some size (KP fwd and/or back), but with some luck there may be some decent mids sliding to our picks in the 30s.
