Numbers

Post: # 1175956Post thirty-seven!? »

Just having a bit of a look at the playing list on the Saints site, and it got me thinking about numbers for next year. I know it's nothing really important at the end of the day, but it's nice to see players rewarded with getting a higher number, or perhaps one that means a bit to the club and supporters.

These are some of the higher the numbers left vacant at the end of 2011:

#6
#10
#15
#16
#21
#29
#32

I guess those first few are the ones more special... So who do we see deserving of getting a higher jumper number?

Simpkin, Ledger, Archer, Stanley, Curren, Ferg?? Also there is Saad, Milera and our future draftees currently without a number.

It's funny, I almost suggested Cripps, then remembered that he has one of the more significant numbers of all! :D

Some of these guys aren't even on the senior list.

Who ever gets/wants a higher jumper number better be able to back it up is all I will say.

Numbers mean Jacko

Milne #44 is a prime example
Banger was #35 another

Grab any number and make it your own with quality playing.

Saad feels like he make a good number #16

Simpkin #29

Milera #32

Might be time to promote McEvoy to number 10

I reclon Cripps would be a nice one to upgrade as well... #15 perhaps

Think Saad should play in 16 and Milera in 21.

Retire 10 for a year because, well it's Bakes.

Distribute the rest according to what Draftees and current players want.

Spot on. It ain't the number on the jumper that matters.........it is the man inside the jumper....................

Incorrect.
44 is even and 35 is divisible by 5 and 7.
Neither is prime.

You get more space around your locker on match day if you have a higher number.
Your surrounding numbers are down at Sandringham.
Milne has been sent to the other end of the locker room with 44.
Banger enjoyed the peace and quiet at 35.
