Dont know if a very late dp is a "waste". A bit of a gamble like Jesse Smith, but could work out especially with Dawson gawn.

Yes, his fitness is a very big IF (just like Jesse Smith), but could pay dividends

Anyway...

So let me get this straight.

We lost Lynch, Walsh and Dawson and gained Saad and Milera.

Lynch was no loss.
Walsh could be.
Dawson integral to the Lyon type of defence so could be a loss.

Saad - all reports is we got a beauty
Milera - dont know but apparently is very quick.

So we are light on for backmen especially with Jimmy down for the early part of the season.

Joe Blake will be required, and so will another backman (Beau Dowler would be in the mix).

We have another year in McEvoy, Steven and Armo, with Lenny back to help Dal, Joey and bj. We will have a fit Roo with a bit of pace up forward.

And then we have Sipposs, Ledger, Cripps, Winmar and Stanley - 5 with absolute potential who should come on in leaps and bounds with Watters and his philosophy.

Yes I am the eternal optimist, but I think the club and Pelchen has handled this extremely well.

I have been a fierce critic of the admin and its reckless spending, but credit where credit is due.

Siince Lyon left

1) Watters has been an excellent choice for coach (so far so good)
2) The yoof Academy is a great initiative
3) Watters appointments have all been quality people
4) the club on the front foot with PR (such a difference from the harrowing last off season and Lyon's truculence)
5) Initiatives such as the member questionairre and the involvement of the fans in the new ad.
6) The openess of the coaching staff and admin to the media.
7) The excellent management of the SC issues and the trade period (considering the doom and gloom that was beign reported)

All in all I feel much less pessimistic than a month or so back.

In years gone by this club would have disintegrated into a complete rabble with the walkout of a coach. it is a tribute to the preveious Butters admin and the current Westaway admin that the club is now so strong and mentally resilient.

Now get the spending under control and sack Nettlefold and i would be over the moon  :D

Lance or James??

There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in <redacted>. Over the past three years, I have been subjected to a <redacted>investigation followed by <redacted> witch hunt. The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for <redacted>and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense. (Oops just got a spontaneous errection <unredacted>)

JB

honest not loaded question as I don't know

what evidence is there that the club's spending is out of control?

I know we made a loss this year... is that it? We've made odd losses over the years + profits too. What's different

we also don't know yet what the loss is made up of?

my thoughts would be th start up of seaford, i remember the club saying that the club would owe over the $1million mark.

as well a year from hell in regards to media, and bad publicity, with the school girl new zealand etc. so you would think that sponsorship would have been a bit down. but if the positiveness that is coming out of the club keeps continuing they should be able to increase sponsorship next year.
