They may look at Sellar, hope they do, but it could be for a KF/back up ruck position. Think he has been tried at CHB.

I don't want to lose Dawson, but if he goes, there are a few delisted tall backs who can play IMO in Austin, Collier and Coad....

You actually dont have to play them. Id rather they all stay and put pressure on the other guys. Wont matter though as Zac will go to Freo.
If they are at the club then the tendency will be to play them...hence...same old team...same old outcome....

How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?

Under Lyon, absolutely.

Under Watters, not necessarily.

At least he won't try to stop global warming by getting Robert Eddy to play a defensive role on the Sun :P

Why do you need to ridicule someone for believing that the Saints ARE GOOD ENOUGH!!!!???? It's difficult for some on here to be positive and confident going forward, but that shows you how much faith and confidence they have in our players... Instead of looking at reasons why we can be a success, you'll always get the pessimists telling you why we are going to fail. Like St Loxton said; we have the bulk of the team that got us to those Grand Finals still playing in the next couple of years. It's going to take a little tweaking, some good coaching and player management and most of all it'll take great leadership and a team effort to give us another chance to get top 4, and if you do that, of coarse Saints will be in a position to challenge.

Our defence doesn't have to be infallible; neither does the forward line...The coach needs to be ultra positive and find talent and give them the faith and confidence and trust to play in the team. Instead of the usual bastardisation and intimidation of new/younger employees there needs to be a different attitude if we are going to be successful as a team. The Captain and leadership group have shown in recent media their willingness to embrace the new recruits.

Because of Pelchen, because of the Youth Academy, because of the lessons of the years under Lyon, I'm sure the clubs whole attitude will now be consistent with all the younger guys coming into the team in 2012 and 2013. If Zac or any other regular list player leaves, then that gives Watters an opportunity to mould a player and use his mentoring skills to help a younster fill a hole and develop someone at FB or into any other position where we need contributors.
