Etihad were all over us at the Best & Fairest, before Saad became a Saint.Con Gorozidis wrote:maybe because we recruited saad!St Lenny wrote:Could Etihad be coming on as a major sponsor? Fantastic coup if that could happen - http://www.saints.com.au/news/newsartic ... fault.aspx

Having said that, his acquisition can't hurt any attempts to hit the airline for a more official sponsorship role.

5% off $7,289 is even better.St Chris wrote:Offering 5% discount for Saints, not bad for $2000 airfares....
Don't think UAE baggage handlers go on strike very often either!!!
I am forced to fly business class at my own expense.
My arthritis won't allow me to sit in a recliner seat or any seat for that matter for much more than an hour.
At the footy I have to go for a walk around at half time.
I need my legs to be un-amputated when I get to the other side of the world.
That means I must have a horiziontal flat bed seat and they are only available in business class on selected aircraft of selected airlines
I am flying to Europe between Christmas and New Year - 90 days in Alps - a skiing tour of my favourite mountains - well sort of - I can't ski like I used to.
A consequence of the arthritis and that dreaded upcoming 60th birthday.
But the methotrexate and anti inflammatories do allow me to ski.
I awake to suffer the consequences around 3AM in morning.
During Christmas and New Year businesses don't fly their executives around the world so business class is next to empty.
I can book quite late, even on the day of the flight.
This year Qantas have horizontal flat bed sleepers all the way to London (not last year) but there is no way I will ever give the next president of the Labor party and Transport Workers Union leader the chance to screw with my holiday.
Sorry Qantas workers but your future unemployment is a certainty as result of the stupidity of some of your co-workers.
Singapore Airlines have horizontal flat bed sleepers on their A380s and 77Ws (777-300ER) but not 773s (777-300 versions 1 & 2)
I used Singapore Airlines last year so I know I can use them but at $8,705
Etihad with Saints discount is showing under $7,000.
I must do my research.
If I use Etihad I could even meet up with former work collegues now in the UAE on my return journey.
Unfortunately most of those UAE baggage handlers are from India and are illiterate.
Can they move my skis between aircraft without losing them?

Different Emirate in the UAE.
As for alcohol and sex both are forbidden and readily are available in Saudi Arabia, just don't invite any Arabs in your party - I know I worked there for 4 and a half years.
The UAE is far more tolerant than Saudi Arabia and the police equally corrupt.

Someone will know, but can we sign a sponsorship deal in competition with the AFL's official carrier?
I know Geelong have Ford in competition with Toyota, but Ford pre-date Toyota so that gets through.
Actually forget I typed anything, as Carlton have Hyundai anyway.
So it mustn't be a problem. Go Etihad. Welcome aboard!!

A bit like coming to Australia on your way to the MCG, but finding out you arrived in Sydney rather than Melbourne - transfers still available.
Etihad actually fly to many locations from their hub in Abu Dhabi.

Deservingly Dubai's economy is wobbly - Karma for supporting Collingwood.

Do you ski strapped flat-out to a toboggan or are there poles that you insert up your trouser legs to make you stand upright?

Well, given that we have a Cross on our guernsey and some members of our board are Jewish, having a Muslim sponsor would be interesting. Do they serve kosher food on etihad?
