Grant Thomas played in the first two wins before he was badly injured in Round 10 of 1983 and was never the same player again, in fact, never played for the Saints again, moving to North and then Fitzroy. I can't recall what happened to Greg Packham and why he only played two years. Perhaps it was another injury.
The little No. 39.....brings back a few memories, quite liked him as a player albeit I was only 10 or so when he graced Moorabbin. Always wondered why he only played the 2 years. There were quite a few like that from the Ballarat region, obviously back then we used to turn them over also and as a youngster what constituted a good player may have been a touch different from the realities...
What was significant about the practice match played between St Kilda and the Kangaroos at Moorabbin in March 2002?

Two Saints kicked 9 goals against the same side, at the same venue, in the same round, both in losing sides, and only 4 years apart. Name the players, opponent, venue and years.
