Since 2004, only 4 Rising Star nominations!
2005 Raph
2007 Gilbo
2009 Geary
2011 Jack Steven
So that's 8 seasons, ie. 176 games for 4 strikes.
IF we got a 16th, ie our fair share, it would be 11 Rising Stars!
What should Watters Rising Star target be?
Maybe get the unheard of TWO nominations in ONE year!
That last happened in 2003 when we actually scored three - Luke Ball, Joey and BJ. In 2004 it was back to customary ZERO!

Oh man.
Not this old chestnut again.
Rising Star nominations work in an inverse relationship with ladder position.

Oh no, Steven will be our new whipping boy this year. It is obviously an award that lines up potential for fan hatred.
seriously, our stifling game plan which reduced players to pawns made anything that resembled creativity or taking the game on a no no. It meant that all our young ones looked ordinary.

You can have all the player development in the world but if the recruiting is poor then nothing will help. Our recruiting was terrible for the years Peake was in charge. Sets you back for years when you have 2 or 3 years poor recruiting.sainterinsydney wrote:This is why the first thing Scott Watters talked about was player development.

nothing to say
Well I think we have plenty of development coaches and they certainly do extra training so i will go with the fact that many are just not good enough.elizabethr wrote:By the same token you can have the best talent but if it is not developed properly it stands for Jack s***..which came first the chicken or the egg?plugger66 wrote:You can have all the player development in the world but if the recruiting is poor then nothing will help.
