Perhaps there is still an indication that a few will walk for more $ bob?saintbob wrote:This is so typical, faced with hard decisions this club continually takes the easy way out.
Delisting kids, who are mostly likely on minimum match payments, does F@&K ALL to relieve the salary cap problems we have.
Instead we keep under performing and over paid list cloggers!!!
Ray, Dawson, Peake, Raph?

Although I'd like to see Ray hang around, but I suppose it all depends on how much money he wants or needs.

Perhaps the intention is to just cut the kids that they don't c making it now. Next year all the war-horses may move on (Blake, Polo, Raph, Kosi? Hayes?) allowing us to get some picks in the awesome 2012 draft. By getting 6-8 new kids this year, it allows us to at least get a year of development into them and see how they go. No point giving another year of development into Heyne, Gamble etc who are a known quantity. We can also hold onto the likes of Blake etc as they will b better back up next year if needed.
Does make some sense when u think about it.

It does, but I just felt one of those taller blokes may have hung on with the sudden departure of your avatar.thirty-seven!? wrote:Perhaps the intention is to just cut the kids that they don't c making it now. lyon has gone the idea that we have a mass of unskilled players is still going. The list was good enough to go close to two premierships but is filled with cloggers? Coaches only get you so far, these guys were good enough then and with some talent coming in should still be a good team.

Some are 'list-cloggers' more than others, but the flawed players who most expected to be shopped around/shipped off are Gram, Jones, Gilbert, Clarke, Ray, Polo, Dawson, Peake and Geary.gringo wrote:Who are these list cloggers? The irony is that now

Obviously not all would go, but it is surprising that we have kept every one of them. Though I still wouldn't be shocked if Ray or Peake ended up leaving for SC reasons.

which 10? So if we sacked all but 10 any one else should be good enough to get us there again. Why don't we just get like any suburban footy players to be chicanes for the best 10.Con Gorozidis wrote:WE NEARLY WON 2 FLAGS COS OUR TOP 10 ARE SO DARN GOOD.gringo wrote:Who are these list cloggers? Surely the sides we played in the GF had as good if not better top 10 than ours.Con Gorozidis wrote:WE NEARLY WON 2 FLAGS COS OUR TOP 10 ARE SO DARN GOOD.gringo wrote:Who are these list cloggers?
