Heyne
Jones (ducks to avoid rubbish thrown by forumites)
Gamble
Maybe Smith? Don't know enough about him
Ray, Gilbert and Peake all lucky to not have been traded
How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?

Agree with those three. Though I think it would have been best if we traded Gram and Jones for picks in the 30s/40s. Would ease the pressure on the salary cap and we wouldn't lose them for nothing. But Jones won't go, nor will Gram. The surprise departure will probably be Peake or Ray, IMO. Cahill and Polo would also be lucky to get another contractskeptic wrote:Personal preference...

Gamble
I think Gamble would be ahead of Polo in the "door exit" stakes.SainterK wrote:My guess is either one or both of Farren/Dawson will walk making the remaining delistings minimal
Bakes, Gardi, Mini, Eddy, Polo, Smith
Heyne is contracted for next year, not sure of the story with Andreoli?
I've never seen a bad St.Kilda player - that's just how they are.

Where exactly did I use the word "Announced" ?????? I said they were going to be "told as early as today"saint66au wrote:Does the OP work for the H-S?? ..heading says "annnounced today" and the thread says "as early as today"
Not the same thing at all but standdard fare for the trashy little paper
Please get your facts straight before you go bagging posters. At least some would appreciate the info.
BTW some of you are suggesting that a certain player is contracted for next year. That is False

I was wondering when the delistings will be announced but figured it would be late as surely the new coach would want to have his say and would need a little time.
Personally, I reckon Gamble hasn't helped us - not a great forward and took the place that should have been used to 'blood' new players.
Likewise, same could be said for Polo - although he showed a bit more.
I think there will be a shock or two as well - players who aren't happy to take a pay cut to help our salary cap issues. ?dawson is one I've heard is not a happy chappy.
It will be interesting.
GO SAINTS!!!

Well if you are suggesting Heyne you are wrong. He is contracted. You can tell us. It isnt a secret.Ross who? wrote:Where exactly did I use the word "Announced" ?????? I'm really surprised about the players people want delisted. Most are the core of our mid tier players. Delisting Raph, Jones, dawson, polo, Peake etc. seems ridiculous. These guys got us to a couple of GFs (most). Polo was handy as back up and will probably improve with a year settling in. I agree that we are likely to see one of our guys walk over the fact that we will want to pay them less. Dawson is the most likely.
Well who do you think should be delisted? I do agree it is a joke someone said CJ. Seriously losing a 22 game player that actually gets the ball even if his disposal is poor will not help the side at all.gringo wrote:I'm really surprised about the players people want delisted. Agreed. Cannot imagine Smith getting the chop either. If he is, watch as another club gets him in this year's draft. Has shown glimpses, and IMO, that is enough to be kept if you are under 21 at the moment. Very little chances given under Ross, so I say keep the kids and see how they go under Watters and his youth academy, or at least the majority of them.plugger66 wrote:Well who do you think should be delisted? We need to delist FOUR more players to take 6 picks to the draft (already lost four and gained two).
IMO, we may lose Raph, Cahill, Gamble. Then perhaps a Dawson/Peake/Ray due to salary cap issues.

Re: Players being told of Delistings Today!
Chris Pelchen said in an interview that the remainder of our de-listings will be announced some time in the final two days leading up to the October 31 deadline. I suspect that the players involved will be informed less than 24 hours prior to that announcement.Ross who? wrote:A VERY good source told me that the guys who were being delisted may be told as early as today about their fate. Just thought I would pass it on
I think i'll go with waiting for the official announcement !!

NEW scarf signature (hopefully with correct spelling) will be here as soon as it arrives !!
With Lenny returning and hopefully a fit Ledger, Steven and Armo our midfield should be much stronger. Polo would be an option to delist but I'd prefer to keep him as backup.
I'd be happy to see pick #25 go for the best available mid to keep improving this area.
I just can't see how Gamble can add to our list.
Outs: Gamble, Cahill, Johnson & ????
1 of the middle tier could walk if their chop in pay is too heavy.
