Goddard is a utility who should primarily play at half back, add to the midfield rotations when needed and if we're struggling up forward he can pinch hit there.
Gilbert definitely plays better behind the ball and is not a forward. However i'd like to see how he goes in more midfield tagging roles against Judd/Goodes/Swan types. He is athletic enough, tackles very welland can win contested footy. His skills would be the main concern but if he's got outside runners to dish it out to then that wouldn't be a problem. If that doesn't work, give him a more defensive role on the opposition's third tall forward.
Johnson should be given a chance to show what he can do. He played some good footy in the VFL and looks like he could be a handy third tall. Extremely quick and quite smart. Not sure on his skills or overhead marking, which makes me think he's not a true FF. Still, let him and Siposs battle it out over the pre season for first crack as the third forward.
Ray is a tough one as he has no real weaknesses yet no strengths that give him an obvious best position. He's ok on the wing but not consistently damaging enough. I would like to see him take the old McQualter/Armitage half forward role with more of an attacking focus. If he could keep the likes of Shaw/Birchall honest while using his strong marking to pluck a couple inside 50 he'd play a valuable role for the team. Kicking for goal isn't great but he might be able to improve it with a bit of work.
