I never got the gram hate on here. There are many others that played far worse. Yes at times he was inconsistent, but so were many this yr...look at BJ. He is a talent, and a bit of tweaking in his approach could do wonders...

Maybe also the RL game plan didn't quite fit for him, and what watters admires is how he plans to use him (more offensively) in the new game plan....

Even if you rate Gram's ability to get the footy and break the lines, "admire" is not a word you'd use when talking about him. He has the physical presence of a 90 year old woman with a hip replacement and Lenny Hayes probably works harder warming up on the bikes than Gram does on the field. An ability to read the play and a bit of natural pace isn't what I'd call admirable.

I'm very disappointed that we didn't take a pick for him if Carlton really were interested.

Gram at his best is a very good AFL player...and has stood up in big games

Cuddles' mode of operation already on display. Publicly he will love all our players - he will make them feel good about themselves - he will make them feel wanted , and that they all have a part to play. Warm and fuzzy, warm and fuzzy. Talk about one extreme to another.

An ageing list. Gram 28 next year and seems to be on the way down. And these talks of salary cap pressure. Preferably I would have liked to keep the two young prospects in Walsh and Lynch. However we don't know if there's anything we could have done to retain either of them.

he is contracted he does not have to take a hair cut salary.

He's altered his game and his kicking style to such an extent that he's unrecognizable. The strange lobbing, slow-foot, kicking action he adopted for the last half of this season, very characteristic of younger players managing groin injuries, wasn't effective and he's copped plenty of criticism.

This has occured when we've reputedly had first class conditioning and fitness staff.

I hope he recovers his touch but more than that I'd really like to see him get fit. I hope he can.

He's altered his game and his kicking style to such an extent that he's unrecognizable. The strange lobbing, slow-foot, kicking action he adopted for the last half of this season, very characteristic of younger players managing groin injuries, wasn't effective and he's copped plenty of criticism.

This has occured when we've reputedly had first class conditioning and fitness staff.

I am of the same impression, Gram was injured in the finals in 2010 and has looked to be struggling since. In the GF that year he looked like walking was hard. His output, contesting the ball and disposal have dropped since. Misson didn't have a great year last year for "the best". BJ, Gram, Kosi, Montagna, Raph, NR, and nearly all our new guys were injured for long periods. Geary, Eddy, broke bones so weren't counted neither was Lenny's injury as his was circumstance not soft tissue.

Gram was great a couple of years ago, but hasn't had anywhere near the same output in the last two seasons. At times he seems to shirk hard contests as well, which is more disappointing. However, given we've not traded him I just hope he manages to get fit and produce the form he's capable of. We need him back kicking behinds from outside 50.

As long as Cuddles plays guys on performance, and not reputation and past achievements, I don't think any of us will have too many complaints.

Gram's quite a good player actually, when he's in form. Saw glimpses in the latter part of the year.
