If you were 22 and one club could offer you $250k a year and another club only half that, and the club that could only offer you half has not given you a senior game in 2 years, and the club that could only offer you half is unable to increase their offer, and you are likely to walk regardless of whether St Kilda trade you, what do you think you would do if you were Tommy Walsh and the Saints?
You would find a suitable trade.
He might have potential but he's a rookie who's never played a senior game. Put it in perspective.
It's not like we've lost Luke Ball to our closest premiership rival for nothing.

Picture this: A tight Friday night game at the Dome against the filth. It's in the last quarter and we are up by 5 points. Tommy gets the ball in the back line and he has to pin point a kick along the boundry to BJ in order to get through the press. Tommy kicks it out on the full. Filth quickly play o and get the ball into the goal square and Cloke takes a strong mark over Zac who is caught out of position. We all groan Again.
Holder of unacceptable views and other thought crimes.

To fellow Tommy fans sharing the disappointment of what has happened in the last hour I offer the following as perhaps a way of getting over it.
I imagine the trade in reverse.
If I had just heard that St Kilda had traded picks 35 and 68 for some Irish guy who had been on the Swans list for the last two years, but had only ever played at AFL Canberra Premier Division level, I’d feel we’d been screwed. The fact this bloke once kicked 6 goals against Belconnen Magpies wouldn’t make it any more palatable.
When I think about it like this I don’t feel so bad.
So give it a shot; it may help.

It doesn't looks like we've lost an awful lot here.

Walsh has yet to prove that he is even better than Dermott McNicholl.SaintPav wrote:Does anyone think that Walsh will be better than Brett Peake? We picked up Peake for pick 48?
Pick 35 for Walsh is a good get.
Can't say we've lost more than we've gained right now.
