Or at least keep him… the cap must be pretty stuffed if we haven't signed up 10+ players still.Eastern wrote:If Gram goes it will certainly free up some Salary Cap space. There might even be enough to give Dempster a bit of a pay rise !!

I'd throw in pick 37 to snare the deal for 22 also. Doesn't look like it will happen though, Watters sounds emphatic.Ralphy wrote:1 post in 11 days.... Follow carlton do youWarwick wrote:I think Gram + pick 37 for the Blues pick 22 would be a great trade
There's a rabbit to come out of a hat yet, I'm sure of it.

Picks 22 and 37 in a supposedly weak draft are nothing to get too excited about. Lets not forget this was someone who was equal best on ground in a grand final two years ago and got our third most possies in our final against Sydney just a month ago. If he has chronically dodgy groins this wouldn't be so bad, though. This will/would also make Carlton, a fellow top four candidate, immediately stronger, too, making them harder for us to beat.

Don't buy the weak draft stuff....AnythingsPossibleSaints wrote:Picks 22 and 37 in a supposedly weak draft are nothing to get too excited about. It's very even after the top 10- So picks from then to pick 40 odd will have very good players. The key is to pick them & then (more importantly) develop them.
Gram has had his day... good luck to him but he's an exceptionally frustrating player that never reached his potential)

Gram is worth more to us than what any other club will offer, same with Clarke, Dawson, Ray etc.
I think this whole "you're on the table, and clubs are interested" stuff is just a plot by the club to get Gram to extract the digit, which he seriously needs to do.
I have no doubt Gram will be at St Kilda in 2012.
