Trade Talk mentioned Dawson to Freo...

Trade Talk mentioned Dawson to Freo...

Thommo indicated that if the Mitch Clark deal falls over then they will trade for Dawson instead.

Sounds like Dawsons future/contract may not be settled until late Monday.

that kind of implies a restructure of freo backline. possibly mcphee/mcpharlin going forward.

Thommo only suggested it to Marty Pask (Dawson's manager), who in turn gave nothing back.

Thommo even pre-empted the comment by saying it was pure speculation as Dawson could be a good fit for Fremantle.

So wouldnt take it as anything more than a rumour with no grounds.

Zac would be a massive loss.
He takes the gun/monster fwd week in week out.

Not sure he can be replaced ?

We do have simkin (not that tall), archer, walsh, johnson as potential key backs but fair to say I'm not confident.

what do we get out of it?

to be honest if we just gave them Dawson for a thank you in return that is a pretty good deal.

I think you mean ........

THE SYDNEY Swans have reached agreement with Adelaide to secure half-back Tony Armstrong, along with selection 35 and a late pick in the NAB AFL National Draft.

In exchange, 20-year-old Swan Lewis Johnston will join the Crows in a trade that will see both players return to their home states.

How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?

Have you ever said anything complimentary about one of our players?

extremely good news tonight. the freo trade for clark has fallen through.

melbourne have reached agreement with clark and brisbane. melbourne will get clark in exchange for pick 12.

i am now hoping we can on trade dawson and pick 42 to freo for pick 20.

If we lose Zac guys like Walsh will start to become very important in the big picture.

I've never seen a bad St.Kilda player - that's just how they are.

Why do we think Freo will definitely take Dawson seeing as the Clarke deal fell through? It was only a suggestion made on Trade News Week. A guess is all it was.

freo need a backman. grover is 30+. pav will be 30 next year? theyre only option is to get a fullback and move one of mcparlin/mcphee forward.

we can really make something happen here.

Dockers do have quite a few options who can play as tall backs: McPharlin, Grover, Silvagni, Johnson and McPhee

Because Marty Pask was angling that way!

Because Marty Pask was angling that way! Marty is Zacs manager and IMO he gave that trade scenario to Thommo so that he could introduce it.

I'd really rather see Tommy kept and play up forward, so unless we get someone from another club to play fullback, I don't see the value in trading Zac.

Who will play full back? That's kind of important, I would have thought.
