Robbo's story - Nick's brave sister

Post: # 1161726Post saintnick12 »

Seems this is the article Robbo was working on when he didn't do his shift at SEN tonight

Geez that sucks, no wonder he looks stressed this year. Hope she gets it fixed, scary stuff for anyone to deal with but she should be at an age that is about having fun and partying. Visiting one of those places with someone close is scarier than most things you have to deal with in life.

I was waiting for this, I had heard something was happening off field and affecting a loved one.

Thoughts and prayers to Madeleine and the Riewoldt family, keep strong, I know you will because it comes with the surname.

Nice photo btw, he does look proud of his little sister.

Things like this just prove that there are so many more important things other than footy!

All my wishes to Nicks sister and family!

Interesting it was diagnosed at the start of last years finals

Imagine how much pressure he was under, not long back from injury etc, then all this in the family. Then all the other crap in the off season

I only heard this late in the season that his sister was unwell... I heard it was cancer - not quite reading this, but still very unwell...
Hope she is able to get the treatment she needs to get well

Agree its a lovely picture of them. Robbo seems to genuinely like Nick from the interactions I've heard from him and often defending him etc. Nick obviously agreed to do this interview with him....

I'm surprised this was published. She has a public twitter account and has been quite open about being ill. I assumed that it was not being spoken about in the media out of respect...

History repeats.

Can see why Nick was struggling on the field in last years finals.

Reminiscent of Stewie Lowe spending GF eve at his sisters bedside.
And Nicky's father dying a day (or two?) before the GF.

Talk about bad timing!

True but the article is full of quotes from Nick and has a posed pic.
Would have been printed with his blessing

I heard that the Riewoldt family actually found this out between last years two grand finals. Obviously Nick was distracted for the replay.

My best wishes go to Madelaine.

And Nick, you are a stong man to endure the last twelve months. A worthy leader of our club.

The bad advice that has guided the selfish and culpable James Hird has not only punctuated this saga but symbolised it..."

Sigh ! He really is simply THE BEST ! Hoping Nicks sister makes a full recovery. Wishing you a great 2012 Nick - in both your private and professional life.

Waiting somewhat patiently. When it comes, another St Kilda Premiership will be all the sweeter for the wait. GO SAINTS ! ! !

Yeah, great interview. Brought it all back.
It's funny when you weigh up the sort of people Nick and his sister are compared to that low-life KD.
It's good to hear that Nick just laughs it off now.

Man-crush definitely renewed!

I see brave battles go on everyday in my workplace.
The families are drawn together and are so tight knit .
The strongest of them all is the one battling the illness, the inner strenght they have to accept their illness is just unbelieveable, they are often the strong ones and get us all through our daily tasks.
All the best to the Riewoldt Family.
