All true K, but we shouldn't even be in this position where we're slightly concerned.SainterK wrote:Easy.
Hasn't gone yet.
Anyway, hasn't Kennelly retired?
He still wouldn't know anyone, and would have to move interstate, and still be behind Reid.
If he really wants an irish friend, we could get Sentanta.

Let's hope that the Club gives him some sort of certainty about getting a set run of games this year. Without a Coach, I know that it's difficult to do and "promising" games is fraught with danger.
The question is, do we want Tommy, or not? The opposing view is that he is yet to prove anything, but after the Club has put years into him, his late games at Sandy were very good. The alternatives could be - use Pick 37 to get a big forward, or get Fevola Neither are good alternatives.

Haven't we invested as much time and effort into a bloke like Heyne. Would you be that upset if he was up for grabs. He has actually played senior footy with the Saints.Junction Oval wrote:Let's hope that the Club gives him some sort of certainty about getting a set run of games this year. I think we all want Tommy to be a gun, but I'm not so sure he ever will.
Doesn't mean I don't want him to be one!

THATS the truth. What is this amatuer hour? I mean FFS, you put time and effort into a guy..just to let him float so other clubs can cherry pick? are we a **** joke?Dr Spaceman wrote:SainterK wrote:Easy.

IF he walks this is seriously one of the poorest efforts by the previous coach, list management team and Board Ive seen ....and there's been some poor ones...
FFS offload Polo, Blake? (how old?) and think about the future. I mean surely Ray/Gram/Dawson can be worked through to help.

I think we need to ask some serious questions re Tommy Walsh;
1. Is he over-rated on this board?
2. Is he under-rated by St Kilda FC?
3. Has he developed enough to play AFL at the highest level?
4. Can he develop into a super-star (at St Kilda or elsewhere)?
5. Are there issues we don't know about?
There are probably more questions that others might like answered. I know one thing for sure and that is that I don't know the answers to any of these questions !!

1) Depends who you ask. Those that have watched his development rate him quite highly.Eastern wrote:I think we need to ask some serious questions re Tommy Walsh;

2) No
3) Yes
4) What has superstar status got to do with anything? Only a handful of players in the AFL are or can be superstars....
5) No
