Huge moment for Ken as he has been overlooked for several jobs over the years..really interesting to see who emerges ...reckon we will know by about midday tommorrowloris wrote:Well it's sure to be Hinkley............... my reasoning is as follows.
Most pundits (posters) on this site were for days opting for Watters, and championing his talents(??) so he appeared to have the front running.
Now Richardson seems to have pulled out and passed Watters in the race for the Saint's senior coach and appears to be favourite with ss punters, as they are trying to come up with positives about his possible coaching talents
Now will the stayer in the race pip them both at the post???? Possibly the money should be on him?
If Hinkley does get the job, let's hope he stays longer than his last stint at the Saints!!!!!!!!!!!!
Never take a backward step even to gain momentum.....

I know what you mean but he probably has been unlucky not to pick up one of the senior spots. He would be desperate to prove them wrong.Burkey 1 wrote:I can accept Watters or Richardson but I know it will take me longer to accept Hinkley after his last stint with us, I just don't know about him, to me it just doesn't seem quite the right fit for us, most definately the other two for me, here's hoping !!

This link is to a recent interview with Richardson; our new front runner. Gives a pretty good idea of what he'd be like as a coach. 114 games with the ferals and just a plodder but does have an impressive record in player development and successful experience at a lower level.

Our most successful coach only had 77 unassuming games as a playergurubob101 wrote:http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/m ... -j51o.html

I have no problem with a coach who didn't have a stellar career as a player. Obviously being a good coach is more about having outstanding people skills, communication skills and tactical skills. But I do think showing a bit of ticker as a player is essential in a coach and I'm not sure Watters meets that criteria.
