He forgot he wasn't at Freo yet.bergholt wrote:maybe he had a plan for freeing up space in the cap to fit clark in... it's much easier to make massive trade calls as the senior coach than as the "list manager" or whatever pelchen's calling himself.St Ick wrote:Apparently not Plugg, but what on earth was RL on when he spoke of Mitch Clark?

If the Saints are serious about bringing in a ruckman they'd have earmarked some cash to get the deal done. RL may have gone but the need for another ruckman hasn't.St Ick wrote:Apparently not Plugg, but what on earth was RL on when he spoke of Mitch Clark?plugger66 wrote:Dont people read or listen. Or (and here's another possibility), RL had a plan to free up some cash involving trading out a well-paid player.
What are the odds of RL and CP having fallen out over list management?

A big chance there was a difference of opinion in relation to the list and any proposed changes / trading / drafting...InkerSaint wrote:If the Saints are serious about bringing in a ruckman they'd have earmarked some cash to get the deal done. The was speculation that Pelchin had more power (was higher in the pecking order) than Ross, so its highly likely they would have clashed over something, at some stage considering what is reported in the media about each of their personalities.Royston wrote:A big chance there was a difference of opinion in relation to the list and any proposed changes / trading / drafting...InkerSaint wrote:If the Saints are serious about bringing in a ruckman they'd have earmarked some cash to get the deal done. I've read hundreds of these threads on this forum and can't recall any of them ever coming true.

They would be on the minimum and you must have a full list so they make no difference.saintly wrote:obviously we can't afford the 2 recruits we picked up?meher baba wrote:Yes, the club has let it be known that it only wants to trade for draft picks and not players. He could play that damaging HB or Back Pocket that runs the ball out of defense with no accountability.......until a team puts a good fwd on him who takes him to the cleaners in a grand final.....S.Johnson, T.Varcoe...
Davis, O'Brien were found out on the biggest stage....by good fwds...I wish Ross had of done this in 2010

Quite possible that it was where the clash started, if lyon wanted to trade out Rooey or something big and the board saw it as losing a marketing machine and a fav son -who knows, maybe despite what Pelchen wanted. Ross might have wanted to trade out a big name and recruit Gumbleton and the Pelican said no. Guess we will here two versions later down the track.InkerSaint wrote:If the Saints are serious about bringing in a ruckman they'd have earmarked some cash to get the deal done.
