Pity we can't make a play for Toovey, wouldn't even mind Bate from Melbourne at a good bargain price.
If I remember think Pearce had one good year in 07, but has been found wanting since as a lot of teams worked him out.
If he comes cheap, like pick 60 or higher, well why not.

I reckon we've got enough unskilled players, so Bate and Toovey IMO no way. Pearce I think could do with a change of scenery. Rising Star in 2006 and highly skilled. Something just not working for him at Port.

I think he could surprise a few under a different coach at a different team.

so was Dal Santo for a few years there...

Pearce has skill and pace, one thing that we lack at the minute.

I'd take him if the trade was right.

Well more struggled when tagged and didn't bring his best against the best opposition. He did seem to go missing once and has really ironed out his flaws. 2011 was probably his best year as far as putting a whole season together.
Danyle Pearce has speed and that is something we could load up on, Geelong sped collingwood of their feet with Varcoe and Wojak, we could use some of that.

Kane Cornes used to wipe him at timesand Carrazzo has got him once, possibly Rawlings and Jack has done him also....thes are quality run with players who 'get' a lot of players....they are B&F winners...in Cornes and Rawlings case, multiple B&F winners....they are guns

Think about who CJ or Dempster or Baker before them have beaten...were they all poor..

I dont believe 2011 was Dals most consistent year.....but he played more standout games....in 05 and 09 he was very consistent....he also has a great finals record

Pearce is just a reciever....who has little workrate

I think Salopek has come up every year for the last 5 years as he used to barrack for us

That's the only reason he gets brought up...s*** if we needed a slow injury prone midfielder I doubt we'd need to trade for one...

Pearce would be worth a get at 25, pace skills.

Its not his job for inside mid work - we need the run.

Pearce, I don't think is good enough, too thin and doesn't go hard enough, heck Garlett looks bigger than him.

I'd go Salopek over Pearce anyday imo.

Yes, the club has let it be known that it only wants to trade for draft picks and not players. But we don't want to let facts get in the way of people's fun.

I've read hundreds of these threads on this forum and can't recall any of them ever coming true.

Salopek FFS!

Apparently not Plugg, but what on earth was RL on when he spoke of Mitch Clark? The fact we have no $'s in the cap means we are pretty much stuffed in trade week as all clubs think they can bend us over because we are desperate to move players.

Pearce seems to pop up every trade week with us, would be a terrible move to bring him in, lots of coin and wouldn't come cheap in terms of what Port would ask.

We have Smith, Cripps, Ledger, Winmar and others who have now had time at Sandringham and are alreay on this list.

Why take someone elses trash when we might have a treasure already on the list who isnt getting a game?

maybe he had a plan for freeing up space in the cap to fit clark in... it's much easier to make massive trade calls as the senior coach than as the "list manager" or whatever pelchen's calling himself.

Get him imo...
Would look very good on a hbf getting easy kicks, using his speed n disposal ala leon david... he would be an upgrade on one of ray, peake, or gram... And imo a better pkayer 2 have in our team then jones

To get him you'd have to delist or trade Ray, Raph and Gram to free up the space for him. He isn't worth all of that.
