Pelchan said ealier in the week we were looking for small/quick forwards...these two obviously fit that need.
So what is the need? Don't we have Milne, Schneider and Siposs?

I had assumed we needed more midfielders and KPPs.
I guess its Milne being the wrong side of 30, so a bit of forward planning.

Re Schnider, perhaps he will be playing more in the midfield... and Siposs isn't a crumber from what I have seen.

In 2011, Lyon seemed to have Schneider playing down back more than anywhere else. If he is going to play in the midfield more in future, then he will be a bit closer to where he ought to be playing: up forward!!

Great news.

Ive been a big rap for Saad for a while. He is a livewire and can turn games on his own. Ready made replacement for Milney when he hangs them up.

According to Patrick Keane (AFL Comms man), trade is for Terry Milera, not Tim Milera

That would make sense as Adelaide picked up Tim in the last Rookie Draft!

Paperwork lodged.

Terry Milera (Port Adelaide Magpies), Ahmed Saad (Northern Bullants) and Pick 25 to St.Kilda.

Pick 20 to GWS.

Decent size, speed, plays foward or midfield, won a B&F (allbeit in a lower grade comp)

Should be able to put some bulk on his frame and be ok. Sorts out or need for speed and a foward option plus doesnt cost us much in draft order.

Great start by Pelch

I like.

Perhaps the intent is more guys who can play forward and rotate through the midfield.

As for his weight, guys like Nahas seem to go OK

Sounds like the team has done very well. :)

Pick 20 or Pick 25? It's all a lottery beyond the first 10 or so.

Siposs is 189cm - no small forward. These guys are.

These guys were probably always on the radar so we won't "suddenly" have to delist more blokes.

We'll just get them this way rather than through the draft.

Trading Lynch may get us back up to pick 21.

BTW, GWS currently own 11 of the first 20 picks.

Liked this bit re Saad:

"He caught recruiters eye at last week's AFL Draft Combine where he won the repeat sprint test in 23.64 seconds, the fourth-best time in combine history."

Speedy little bloke.

I think the real gold in these trade weeks are the pre-listed players. Last year saw Mzungu, Krak, Richardson etc and I really thought we should go down this road this year.

Looks to be a good choice, without knowing much other than seeing Saad a couple of times. Milne, while still starring, isn't getting younger. Siposs is a medium leading forward, not a crumber. Schneids, might play that L Davis role next year if Saad is ready (is mature age but light as).

Two players and noone traded out, that means at least two more trades/delistings yeah? The difference between 20 and 25 means little I would have thought.
