The important thing here seems to be in what he doesn't say - and he doesn't say they have no interest in Zac Dawson, yet all three have been publicly listed as potential trade targets for Freo in the past few days.stkildathunda wrote:Chris Bond from Fremantle declares his club has no interest in Farren Ray or Brett Peake
Does that mean potentially "good bye Zac"? Hope not, under-rated by many here, but get s the job done and is not one we have a ready replacement for, postiion wise.

I hope we only trade for players we need .. no more half back flankers please !
We need ..
A line breaking player or 2 .. like a Varcoe type (just as an example)
A fast medium forward or 2 .. like a Dangerfield type (as an example).
They need to be young and talented .. otherwise why bother.

Goddard is worth O'Meara, plus top 3 draft pick & say late first to early second rounder, that would be a good trade. That being said, wont go anywhere... THIS YEAR... I'd like him to stay with the club but wont be happy if we lose him next year.
With the other trade, here are some #'s;
- Tom Lynch @ 21yo, 192cm, 87kgs, 6 games of footy very limited opportunities, pick 13
- Jack Gunston @ 19yo, 193cm, 83kgs, 14 games, some of which he played very well against poor sides, pick 29.
Seems like for like, but I think Gunston is a bit quicker, good lead and good mark. As much as I think Lynch will be a good smart footballer, I think Gunston will be a great player based on what little I have seen of them both. We'd probably have to swap our later picks and drop down a few rungs in the order to make it happen.
Put it this way, Gunston, Siposs and Stanley sounds a lot stronger in years to come than Lynch, Siposs and Stanley.

Must be why interested in Tom Lynch. Maybe straight swap or something. Adelaide want a first round pick for Maric, which is way overpriced.Old Mate wrote:Yep. Heard Pelchin say they were after someone to help out McEvoy in the ruck.stkildathunda wrote:AFL_LHolmesby Luke Holmesby
Crows say there is another team asking about Maric but wouldn't specify who. 10 mins earlier St Kilda said they're interested in a ruck.
Maric 26 next year and entering his peak as a ruckman. All in all I think it's a fair trade for both parties.stkildathunda wrote:Must be why interested in Tom Lynch. Maybe straight swap or something. Totally agree. I don't believe we will give up our first couple of picks.stkildathunda wrote:Lynch for Maric i do agree would be a fair trade, but noway would i want us to give them pick 20 for him...Old Mate wrote:Maric 26 next year and entering his peak as a ruckman.
