Trading him wouldn't do much to ease the salary cap pressure but might gain us an extra draft pick.

This has been reported by a few places now...might be something to it...not sure we'd get much in return tho.....

Yeah that was the rumour last week - hopefully part of a bigger deal if this is the case!

Read that Adelaide are fielding 3 offers on top of the Hawks one for Jack Gunston. Reckon he could be part of a potential trade for him.

theres not much to be gained by trading lynch. if anything we lose the development we put into just as he's showing some up side.

if were going to ease salary cap pressure it will come from moving on some of these players:
- jones
- peake
- gram
- dawson
- ray
- clarke
and replacing them with kids. should look at getting in gunston for one or more of them.

What worries me is that we are just helping to facilitate a deal between Adel and Haw and we end up getting screwed by losing Lynch for FA.

Not if we end up with Gunston ourselves!!!

For those that have seen him play a bit, is Gunston really that good?

Like all young players drafted that high, Tom showed quite a bit during his TAC Cup career. Through lack of opportunity, application or whatever, sometimes kids don't live up to their potential.

I still think he could make it... hopefully it's in red white & black

I also wouldn't want to trade Lynch unless we got something pretty good for him. I'd suggest the only reason he wasn't playing regular AFL footy this year was the fact we have so many established options down back, where he was doing so well for Sandy. He would have been playing good senior footy in most teams I suspect, but there just wasn't a suitable spot for him in ours.
If another club recognises this fact and gives us something appropriate for him then it would probably be a win for all parties.

IMHO he's shown nothing to justify the attention that he's receiving.

I wouldn't mind having him at the club because he looks a likely type, but I haven't given up on Lynch so I wouldn't be willing to trade him in a straight swap, let alone add something else from our end.

If Hawthorn are going to get involved, I wouldn't mind something like

Gunston to Hawks

Lynch and our 2nd rounder to Adelaide

Hawks 1st rounder and Adelaide's 3rd rounder to us

If we could replace our second rounder with Gram, I would much prefer it though, not sure if Hawks or Crows would want him though.

Hopefully none of Gram, Ray, Clarke or Koschitzke are going anywhere.

is anyone listening to trade week radio. bloody hell cameron mooney is potting us. its all doom and gloom according to him. he thinks were forced to trade out goddard to ease the salary cap that we've breached and that we'll only get picks. he thinks we have shopped him around and is worried what goddard will do when the trade falls though.

i just cant believe how many mistruths the media is prepared to spread about us. isnt cam mooney linked to a GWS coaching role?

Fact is that they need to offload the 4 17 yr olds...So Bj could still be on the table in that regard. Would not think that they would straight swap Bj for say Picks 1, 2 or 3.
