Sen rumour - change at the top?

Post: # 1157339Post HitTheBoundary »

Tim Watson (talking to Mike Sheehan) just said that someone he knows has been sounded out as to whether they are interested in the St.Kilda Presidency.

Sheehan said he had also heard rumours that implied (without naming) dissatisfaction with Nettlefold.

There is plenty of dissatisfaction with Nettlefold! It's no rumour.

Whether it's from anyone who matters though (ie. not just from posters on here) is entirely different though!

Steve Bedwell or Scott Dennison?

Any other tools in the shed?

Lance or James??

There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in <redacted>. Over the past three years, I have been subjected to a <redacted>investigation followed by <redacted> witch hunt. The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for <redacted>and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense. (Oops just got a spontaneous errection <unredacted>)

Close. While Sheehan confirmed to Watson that they had heard the same rumour, Sheehan went on to say that he looked into it further and was (paraphrasing) "satisfied with further information to know changes are not in the works for now".

This obviously does not rule out changes down the line, but the initial rumour can be chalked up to just that.

I obviously heard it differently, the way I took it - Sheehan was talking about Nettlefold, not the Presidency.

Watson didn't say he'd heard a rumour, he said someone he knew had actually been spoken to.

But I was having breakfast at the time, so maybe I missed a bit. :D

Didn't the last AGM introduce ammendments that limited the number of terms the president could be in the position for barring extraordinary circumstance, along with a number of other changes in corporate governance

Westaway has been in the position for about 5yrs the board are probably just sounding ot his successor in the position.

Definately talking about Westaway.

They said right at the very top, and stated chairman. That means Westaway I think.

The impression I get is that it's a bit of rudderless ship down there at the moment, and if that is indeed the case, where does the buck stop if not the top?

It's hardly groundbreaking.

Nettlefold himself was defending his position in the paper the other day, can't be bothered finding it.

I would suggest there will be some movement after the best and Fairest is done...I would strongly suggest Westaway will not be President in about a weeks time.

Post this change, and perhaps a few others at Board level, Nettlefold will be accountable for his actions going foward, which he certainly has not been until now.

This is more than a rumour. It is happening and thank goodness for that!!!
