Anderscum putting final touches to Draw at the Lexus centre
Draw scheduled for release in 3 weeks.
AA just has to get a few last minute things right.
- re-book permanent locked in blockbusters - Check
- usual clubs excluded from key fixture dates - Check
- Fri night games manipulated to maximise revenue - Check
- Collingwood 18 games at the G - Check
- some teams to meet for the first time after round 17 - Check
- rip off Jihad Stadium deal to be honoured despite ridiculous breakeven figure - Check

The rest of Australia can wander mask-free, socialise, eat out, no curfews, no zoning, no police rings of steel, no illogical inconsistent rules.

That is very good! Unfortunately, too close to the truth!Enrico_Misso wrote:Draw scheduled for release in 3 weeks.

In honour of those who went before, in the dark and desperate years.

Incorrect. Collingwood have only 14 games at the G.Enrico_Misso wrote:Draw scheduled for release in 3 weeks.

Eddie has got the 4 games for Etihad moved to Unskilled Stadium to boost their bottom line by $2 million.
Those games are against the Suns, GWS, Port and Freo.

Now, lets look at this just a little bit more objectively;
All 18 teams will need to play 5 other teams twice during the Home & Away season and that is where the FIXture becomes UNFAIR. Lets look at who gets what;
ADELAIDE; Gets the annual showdown with Port Adelaide
BRISBANE; 2 x Q Clashes
CARLTON; Have contracts with both Etihad & MCG. Get return games v Collingwood & Essendon as part of this deal
COLLINGWOOD; Have contracts for 16 games at the MCG (10 Home, 6 Away) and 2 games at Etihad (1 Home, 1 Away). Have ANZAC Day and a return game v Essendon. Have return game v Carlton. Of their 4 Interstate trips they even have a contract to play their away game v Sydney at ANZ Stadium. They also have the Queens Birthday Away game at the G v Melbourne.
ESSENDON; See Carlton and include ANZAC Day
FREMANTLE; Return DERBYS v West Coast
GEELONG; 7 or 8 Home games in Geelong
GOLD COAST; Return Q clash
GWS; Return game v Sydney.
HAWTHORN; 4 Home games in Launceston v Interstate or lower drawing Vic teams.
MELBOURNE; Queens Birthday Home game v Collingwood
NORTH MELBOURNE; 2 x Home games in Hobart
PORT ADELAIDE; Return Showdown. Away game in Darwin
RICHMOND; Home games (1 or 2) in Ciarns
SYDNEY; Return clash with GWS. Home game v Collingwood at ANZ.
WEST COAST; Return Derby v Freo
WESTERN BULLDOGS; Home game/s in Darwin
That leaves St KILDA. What annual requests does our club put in. I'd suggest that there isn't much left for us to have !!

1 or 2 Home games at Frankston Oval vs Gold Coast and Western Sydney. Should be able to pull the capacity 5k and make more than we would at Etihad.Eastern wrote:That leaves St KILDA. What annual requests does our club put in. I'd suggest that there isn't much left for us to have !!
Bringing the game to semi country victoria.
Hell we could look for the largest capacity ground on the Mornington Peninsula and play it there and make more than we would at Etihad even if we were to hire temporary stands.
Should see if the local council would be up for chipping in a few dollars for bringing in tourists?
EDIT have looked up Frankston Oval the capacity is actually 8k which is even better.

GOOD FRIDAY
I know that opinions are divided on this but I still feel that if we don't grab it and do something with it someone else will and we will be left with NOTHING again !!
