Just reported on Channel 7 that strong rumour that Malthouse will sign with Saints on Wednesday. The reporter was reporting from Geelongs celebtration (@ 8:17 am)

If true, it would be consistent with the weasel words that have been recently creeping into Malthouse's comments about his future plans.

But could be rubbish, of course.

wouldn't be surprised at all, I thought last night the rumor mill would start today. I also thought it was strange Mick walking out not even 3 hours after losing the game.
He could have waited a few days, let the club and supporters comes to terms with their lose. Instead to throws more salt in and walks out the same day, to me that is a man who has another job lined up.

If it was with foxtel, there is no need to walk out 3 hours after a match considering we are now officially in the off season

I reckon his coming!

I don't know about any of that, but he's always been a first-rate coach and would definitely be good for our players and club.

Well, perhaps. But Collingwood had basically told Mick
he was moving on at the end of 2011 and, on top of that, tried to bind him to them after this with a mean-spirited clause that he couldn't coach anywhere else.

I would expect the media to be far, far gentler towards Mick
that they have been to Ross.

Sorry, I've obviously missed something somewhere along the way. Why would we only be paying him $300k per annum?
