Great news for us. May he help steer the Filth down the gurgler.

He'll be hitting the golf course and you'll probably hear him doing special comments on Fox Footy games.

A fresh start for Mick.

I'm sure Eade will have the usual caveat, that if he gets offered a senior position he can take it.

That explains why I didn't know that. I almost took a footballing hiatus from 2001-02 since I was doing VCE - I Still barracked for us on weekends if I remembered we were playing but took no notice of off field stuff until about 2004.

Come to think of it, I still take next to no notice of off field stuff. Blocked all football related sites and stuff after the 2010 GF 2 and found out about the photo scandal off my father in law when we wet the baby's head at the local in December.

thanls for that. I know who he is now. Yes, stay well away.

Watters is the man for me.

Scott is currently the best in the biz, Malthouse is just another loser tonight.

Lance or James??

Mick has the runs on the board over an extended period of time. 3 flags, 6 GF's. He's rebuilt the Pies list a couple of times and really done wonders with it.

It's not just on-field, he do wonders for us off it as well.

Malthouse is an overrated knob that took 11 years to win a flag for The Filth..

it also coincided with Buckley being appointed as an assistant....was that a coincidence.....

As we know flags are incredibly difficult to win. Mick has three as head coach....so he's not overrated.

Won two with a West Australian state team and one when the ball bounced the wrong way.

Still reckon he is a good coach but ALL coaches are overrated.

He won three flags true but two were at a club with state of the art facilities, he also had the money to spend on facilities and more to ensure he got his players to the Grand final. He also lost a GF during this time.

Then he won one more and lost three more GFs (and drew one) when he was at the country's richest club with the best facilities and a budget to do near anything he wanted (with a Pres to back him up too)

In both cases, it was a matter of when not if. The only if was IF he got the chop at some point (which must have been close in the 2004-05 period)

He is a good coach yes, a great coach even, but I think he is past it. He ALMOST got outcoached in the grand final last year. (GF1 of course)

I can see why people might think he is overrated (although personally, that's a bit far) and I definitely think he is past it.

Not to mention, he has NO interest in coaching this year.

i just think we've got to get the best out there. most neutrals would say MM is the man. highly unlikely anyway. i've heard he's going os for 6 months with his family next year. and media stuff.

did waters get knocked back from the other 4 clubs looking for a new coach? just for interests sake.
