We all tend to rate the players we have seen, but way before I was born
the Saints had a player called Harold Bray. In the late 1940's and early
1950's Bray was third in the Brownlow and 2nd a further 2 times. On one occasion he missed out by 2 votes. Naturally he was part of an ordinary Saints team but was by all accounts are fantastic player.
He also won the Saints Best and Fairest twice, but in those days being
on the commitee or a senior player had a vote on each games Best and Fairest and being an old school gentleman would not give himself votes!
He is also in our team of the century, off hand I can not remember his jumper number (3?) but I reckon he just might deserve a spot in the "Jumper Team"
Cheers Mark

The problem is we have several players in the same number and other numbers without deserving players. #10 at the Saints is a good example
Bill Mohr
Neil Roberts
Big Carl
Spider
Bill Mohr was an outstanding Full Forward in a very poor Saints teams
in the 1920's and 1930's and was easily out best full forward until Plugger came along......

Lockett will always be 14 for me. That was the number he won the Brownlow playing in.
A few others for the oldies.
20. Jim Ross.
27. Peter Bennett
17. Bruce Philips.
15. Jeff Moran.
