as someone said what of the Suns preformance- which I found worse
What was wrong with the suns act??
Well considering they are pretty young kids, miming to a song with words about whacking your hand down your pants and having casual sex may not be appropriate.
And they finished it off by dropping their strides and poncing around in their boxers.
If the Saints had done that performance they'd probably receiving just as much flak as they are now.
Not their act, It's a spoof of the video clip which features all of that and would run anytime of the day on a music show.
They all were of course. And they were all risque because that's what music has become.
Comedian Peter Helliar was among those to take to Twitter to criticise the players' involvement.
"Obviously no one in charge @ St Kilda. Why would they agree 2 a Footy Show act where they dance w strippers & dry hump girl on a couch???" he posted.
Cant argue with that....
"Hmmm, what could be the harm in agreeing to do this...?"
You'd need to be brain dead to think it was ok.
As for the club... even I knew the footy show revue was coming up, and how it can get (although I assumed they'd be on top of it)... maybe someone should've made enquiries??

"drawing the ire of some viewers who thought it particularly inappropriate given the club's off-field scandals throughout the year."
What scandals?
There was also a lot of support on Twitter last night and the majority of comments on the HS are in support.
Better to focus on the negative I suppose.
A bloke who never played a game for the club, was charged with rape and cleared.
And a young lunctic chick made up a head of s*** about some players.
Oh, and there were 2 photos of players with their dacks off, and not a female in sight and no 'rudeness' or offensiveness within a mile.
But this 'review' is in bad taste given the scandals? f*** me, at what point are people going to actually acknowledge and/or accept that the club didn't do anything wrong in these so-called 'scandals'?
Whether it is based on a previous video clip or not does not make it right. I have not seen this clip but after attending last years show have not watched it again. The review used to be a bit of fun it has now turned in to semi naked women prancing around with a bit of player input. It is a reflection of our society where porn has moved in to mainstream media and it is right. As a member of the club I am hoping St Kilda stop any of the players having anything to do with the Footy Show it is now sensationalist and does not care who it takes down along the way.

Far off the mark was it? A video clip that would be shown at all hours (with kids watching) on music shows.
exactly. And it is acceptable to those living in this century instead of lingering in the last.
You are confusing two seperate issues Griggsy.
You appear to be measuring this on if people were offended or not by the content.
Bigger issues here.
Including mixed messages out of the club, again.
Players not appearing to have any depth of thinking when it comes to the STKFC, again.
Poor PR effort by the club, again.
All this in an environment where the club has admitted it is struggling to attract sponsors.
SO unprofessional.
True, but this gut action recovery from the club was spurred by peoples reactions. Would have been better off ignoring the HS s*** stirring all together than to make an issue out of it.
What I am saying is that peoples opinions on some of the issues they see are outdated. For instance about the girls, Im 100% certain these girls enjoy their jobs a lot more than the rest of us. One hand people say you should be happy with what you do for a living but only really mean it about jobs that they see as acceptable. And the act wasnt him watching a girl, he also got up there and had a go, how dare he objectify men.

Why would anyone listen to that moron?
And who actually regards him as comedian. And then ask what AFL club he supports
Channel 9 reckon they go through the players' managers to get them to perform on gigs like last night, not the footy club.
The players' employ managers, on a decent %age, to look after their interests (Gary Ablett's was still paying all his bills for him, years afetr he'd retired).
I reckon the managers need throttling. As they take the bookings, you'd reckon they might be across what the St.K.F.C. players would be better to stay away from. Don't they remember Ch 9 giving a p!ssed Fevola the microphone at the Brownlow and reckon that might be a reasonable clue as to what 9 are interested in?
If you genuinely manage a player you would surely vet requests to participate in things like TFS? It only takes a couple of questions and to set some boundaries. For the %age they get, it should be mandatory.
The club most surely should have done better in the aftermath. But, in matters like this, the managers should be front and centre. If they don't "get it", then give the job to someone who does.

It doesn't bother you that the players don't have enough depth of thinking to come up with this conclusion on their own?
The club tweeted last night to tune in, today it releases an official apology.
I thought after the mess of the off season, they appointed a PR company.
