Seriously, how distasteful was that! Surely the players should know better and have some alarm bells ringing when hearing what the routine would involve.
And the club, wow! No idea when it comes to PR and further enhances the perception that our admin is not up to scratch! We issue a statement saying we have no idea what was to be performed but earlier tell people to tune in for the performance?? Laughable really.
Anyway, the winds of change will soon blow through Seaford, things can only get better!

The lack of communication and thought emphasises that we are a rabble at the moment. I wonder what Lenny thinks.

as someone said what of the Suns preformance- which I found worsebozza1980 wrote:To single out St Kilda's ridiculous part in a ridiculous player revue is illogical.
I cannot believe the amount of angst being wasted on this.
Channel Nine said this morning the segment was never earmarked for a particular club.
A Nine spokeswoman said the St Kilda players' managers were contacted after another club's players backed out of the segment due to injuries and holiday plans.
St Kilda players became available when they dropped out of the finals, she said.
She said Channel Nine's choreographer had come up with the idea for the routine, which was based on Pittbull’s Give Me Everything film clip.
She said the network always dealt with players' management rather than the clubs to book players to perform in the revue.

F*** YOU ST KILDA MEDIA MANAGEMENT...
We need a new coach, how about new media personnel too!
Weak, gutless and just plain disgusting trying to wipe the clubs hands like this, when we know you have nothing to do with it, and there was nothing wrong! The St Kilda Football Club is disappointed with The Footy Show (Nine Network) and its ‘player review’ segment aired last night.
The segment, which involved five St Kilda FC players, was choreographed and scripted by The Footy Show team.
At no point was the Club informed of the nature or content of the segment.
The segment certainly did not represent the values we aspire to at the St Kilda Football Club.
The St Kilda Football Club would like to sincerely apologise for any offence caused.
We need a new coach, how about new media personnel too!
They walk amongst us...

Eddie would have deflected it in a much better way!!!

Story started by the Herald Sun and driven into everyone by them.Spud wrote:Naive of the players, but the situation was overhyped by the media. However common sense should have prevailed given the media are just itching to take a pot at us over anything REMOTELY related to the events of the past year.
Anything to do with us having a sponsorship with The Age you think?
Shut this rag down now. As their motto says, 'Stories start here'... F*** oath they do.

Embaressed
I did not watch the footy show so I do not know if the Saints players act was good or bad. But seeing the negative recraction it has created via the newspapers it would appear that our clubs adminstration along with the players invloved do not have any common sence if they could not forsee after our year from hell what kind of public recration this kind of act would
be.
Hell no wonder RL wanted out of this club.

What was wrong with the suns act??saintbrat wrote: as someone said what of the Suns preformance- which I found worse
As for the Saints one I am shocked that people are actually offended. Welcome to the modern day, there are public pole dance classes now and I've been told they are quite fun. Many people enjoy performing and it is not just for strippers anymore. It wasn't a demeaning performance at all.
Also as for distasteful, it was on at an appropriate hour so please hush hush, Underbelly is on earlier than that with nudity, drugs, sex and violence.
It's amazing that this is getting such a response! Im surprised that the Footy Show didnt come under fire for the opening segement which featured a song about 'The St Kilda Schoolgirl"...Griggsy wrote:What was wrong with the suns act??saintbrat wrote: as someone said what of the Suns preformance- which I found worse

Well considering they are pretty young kids, miming to a song with words about whacking your hand down your pants and having casual sex may not be appropriate.Griggsy wrote:What was wrong with the suns act??saintbrat wrote: as someone said what of the Suns preformance- which I found worse
And they finished it off by dropping their strides and poncing around in their boxers.
If the Saints had done that performance they'd probably receiving just as much flak as they are now.
Not their act, It's a spoof of the video clip which features all of that and would run anytime of the day on a music show.Dr Spaceman wrote:Well considering they are pretty young kids, miming to a song with words about whacking your hand down your pants and having casual sex may not be appropriate.Griggsy wrote:What was wrong with the suns act??saintbrat wrote: as someone said what of the Suns preformance- which I found worse
